  1. its actually much more user friendly than that. There are some pretty good modes (all be it not very original)and the maps are pretty easy to get to grips with. Its much more accessible than halo 3 and the lag problem seems to have been sorted.

    Tee hee. :)

At the time I wasn't sure what the ending was on HL2 (the Gman appears, right?) but I thought it was to do with a train, which would be Episode 1, which would properly be a SPOILER!!!!

I think i might have semi-ruined the end of Epi one by reading ahead on what the secret achievements are, it shouldn't have spoiled it to much though. That and i played the demo of HL2 EP2 so i know how that starts...

i think all orange box owners on there should also start showing some love for the forgotten part of l'orange box, freakin' team fortress 2, its aces!

Because of the length of the episodes I'd heartily recommend diving straight into Episode 1. Great stuff.

how long are the other episodes, about 6hrs?i'm currently replaying ffx with the missus so i'll finish that 1st,although i'm curious how it starts after the hanging cliff that is the end of hl 2

  4. i just finished HL2 yesterday, i really enjoyed it, there was a few sections that dragged, but they weren't to long and the rest of the game more than makes up for it. Think i might play something else before cracking open Epi 1&2

Collaboration of Ben's photo's and Centy's wizardry if I recall. Good times.

haha GPhoniex was such a twat! i wonder if he's still collection n-gage games

  6. XBL Gold 12 month £27

would this work over here, i assume so as its only a code you enter. Works out about half price if it does.

    Anyone gonna take a risk?

.:EDited:. i was being a moron, it should take you to play-asia now..

great telly wildejohn, im sure youll be happy as fuck with that beast.

as for mine, a few weeks in im proper happy with it. though i do have a problem! :(

the image quality, contrast and colours are jaw dropping. but.. i have two stuck pixels (red) right next to each other on the screen! a lot of the time i dont notice them but sometimes i do, and im sorry but if you spend a grand + on a telly you expect the screen to be fine at least for a few years.. !! phonecall to spamdung the morrow methinks

do you know you can "unstick" pixels by applying pressure with your thumb and "rocking" the pixel back and forth a bit. Not sure it works with tellys, but its always done the job on my laptop.

I haven't played anything of the Orange Box other than Portal, which I have finished. I get FPS'ed out sometimes, and having just finished the awesome COD4, I may leave it for a little longer.

I've not been an FPS fan in the past either (not on consoles anyhoo) but my two fave games of last year were both FPS. I think its still an exception to the rule, I really didn't enjoy halo 3 much, nor quake 4.

The Orange Box is truly the best value compilation ever made, and a snip at 25 quid on play.

  9. I think portal would be my game of the year as well ( super later contender, seen as i started playing in on December 29th...)

Everything about it was so perfectly balanced, even its length. All of the "forth wall" stuff really fucked with me but just added to its brilliance. So far i've played through all of the hard levels, just got the last one to finish, although thats turning out to be a cunt.

I'm currently playing through HL2, do the events in portal have any relevance on the rest of the games (if it does please avoid spoilers ;) ) I wasn't sure if its meant to tie in in some way.

My DNA doesnt allow me to extract the full benefit from Harvest Moon titles. They just become a little dull after a while, but I also know that apparently after much work comes great happiness, and it all becomes worth the effort. Unfortunately ive never got to that stage.

my girlfriend loves the HM games, apparently the SNES incarnation is still the best one. They are something i've never managed to get either, which is odd considering the unhealthy amount of time i've spent with both versions on Animal Crossing.

  11. I've been playing the demo over the last few night, and i have to say i'm slightly disapointed. I like the idea of what there trying to achieve, but i'm a little doubtfull about how it will work. I really hope that it is the demo giving me a bad impression and that the full game will be ace because i'm still looking forward to playing this.

    Fingers crossed!

p.s hopefully i'm going to be a wiifi regular again, i've got a freakin' internet connection at work!

  12. Play

Assassins Creed - 360. I know this has had, on the whole, very negative reviews, and a lot of the negative comments are justified. However i'm coming to the end of it now and i have really enjoyed playing it.

Eternal Sonata - 360. Just got the last bonus dungeon to grind through then its finished. This was a potentially fantastic RPG but gets let down by some sloppy plotting in the last couple of hours.

Guitar Hero I - PS2. Going back to the old school.

Snake - Nokia n73. Surprisingly good for a new 3D snake, kept me amused at work.

    Want

    Guitar Hero III

    Rock Band

    Mass Effect

    Orange Box

    a wii

    Mario & Sonic Olympics

    Mario Galaxy

    Paper Mario

    Virtual Console

    ...basically i'm converted now ;)

    Bin

My old data input job for a new ICT Technician job (starting next monday...)

  13. Play

Eternal Sonata - 360. Really enjoying this Jap RPG. Good characters, good original story. Looks fantastic. Little grinding (so far) and a pretty smart battle system that at first seems pretty simplistic but actually gets quite tactical the further you get in.

Every Extended Extra Extreme - XBLA. Played the demo of this the other night and after half an hour of head scratching it all clicked in to place and i parted with seven quid for the full version. its like an epileptic fit on acid, it seems both frantic and hectic and completely relaxing at the same time.

Everybody's Golf - PSP. Only really just got into the PSP after its been sitting in its box for 3 months. I've really got into this game as well, i know Ed loves it. So far i'm up to the last before top class and things are getting tricky, but I'm still sticking with it just because its so much fun to play, defiantly the best golf game i've played.

Zelda PHG - DS. Not really spent much time on this to be honest. Gotten past the first few dungeons and i do like it a lot, just not sat and spent any proper time with it yet.

    Want

The Orange Box - 360. Really looking forward toplaying all parts of this. I've never played HL2 as i've never had a machine powerfull enough to do it justice, so i can't wit to find out what Freeman did next. Portal looks cool as well, although it reminds me a bit of prey from what i've seen. TF2 looks cool as well, although i've heard its laggy on XBL.

PRG4 - 360. Because PGR 3 is still my fave 360 game to date...

A better job - that pays more.

    Bin

Turn based RPG's - I just can't do them. I want to love them and i know i should, but i simply suck at them, big time.

    My crappy job. See above

    Thats about it i think

  14. hmmmm i'm really going to have to make a big push to get back into this at some point. I've been busy with work at the moment, and then got Eternal Sonata. Seen as thats the first 360 game my missus has ever wanted to play and its got CooP we've been playing that all the time.

    BTW its very very good
