Hendo
In getting ready for the launch I figured it would be a good idea to have a thread about keeping tabs on what's available for the VC and how much it costs. PRICES NES - 500 points £3.50 / €5 SNES - 800 points £5.60 / €8 N64 - 1000 points £7 / €10 Megadrive - 800 points £5.60 / €8 TurboGrafx 16 - 600 points £4.20 / €6 For any game that is not of the standard Point price, I'll put the price next to the game name. illdog
I may have missed this completely, but do you get Wii point each time you buy a Wii game? And these get translated into points? And nice list, good work Hendo.
relmatos
The Wii should already come with some free points. Enough for us to get some games as a bonus. It'd make Nintendo look more friendly to the fans and give users a chance to try it out without fearing losing money.
Guest
I think you get 5000 with the classic controller, though I could be wrong. I still need my Wifi setting up, I'll have to get the router for christmas.
Hendo
I haven't heard anything about getting free points. I still think they should let you transfer the Star Points over.
DANGERMAN
Agreed, they might aswell be put to use given that Nintendo havent given us anything else to spend them on
Hendo
Sure it wasn't *shudders* Star Points though? And come on Nintendo, I've got maybe 9000 now just sitting there. At least give me something to use them on! Anyway, back on topic.... Toejam & Earl will be mine come this weekend! Mine I tells ya!

Hendo
For anyone as confused as me as to why the shopping channel doesn't have as many games as it should, they're releasing them gradually. From Friday, 8 December Super Mario 64 (Nintendo 64) F-Zero TM, Donkey Kong Country TM (Super Nintendo) Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong and Wario's Woods (NES) Sonic the Hedgehog, Altered Beast, Golden Axe and Ecco the Dolphin (SEGA MEGA DRIVE) Bonk’s Adventure, Super Star Soldier, Victory Run, Bomberman ’93 and Dungeon Explorer (Turbografx/PC Engine) From Friday, 15 December Urban Champion, Solomon's Key and Pinball (NES) Columns, Gunstar Heroes, Ristar, Dr. Robotonik’s Mean Bean Machine (SEGA MEGA DRIVE) Alien Crush TM (Turbografx/PC Engine) From Friday, 22 December Donkey Kong Jr., Soccer and Tennis (NES) Space Harrier II and Toe Jam & Earl (SEGA MEGA DRIVE) Military Madness (Turbografx/PC Engine) From Friday, 29 December SimCity, Super Probotector, and Super Castlevania IV (Super Nintendo) Baseball and Ice Hockey (NES) R-TYPE (Turbografx/PC Engine) Oh well no Toejam for a week or two. Damn you chin, and your 'physical copy'.
retroed
I've just downloaded Super Mario 64. It took about a minute to download, featured a nice little old skool Mario animation whilst I was getting it. It takes up 165 blocks, which is nothing really! moggymatt
Looks like those star points are gonna keep sitting there... Source = IGN Wii Points Cards does the wii classic controller come with wii points ? Matt responds: No. No, it does not. You buy those precious Wii Points cards separately. Or, you can alternatively purchase Wii Points online with your credit card - unless you're Mark Bozon, in which case you don't know what a credit card is and therefore fear it in the same way that you do fire. On a side note, why do you have to scratch Wii Points cards off as though you're trying to win the lottery? The things do come in boxes, after all. ---------------------- But I also remember reading in Ngamer that u got 5000 points with it, oh well.... mind you Ign know squat
Hendo
Nope that's true, you don't get points with the controller, I should know, I bought 2 of the bastard things!
retroed
I've just downloaded Bomberman '93 for its classic multiplayer madness. Mums gonna love me when she next comes over. At little over 4 quid, it's rude not to... I just successfully added a further 1000 points using my Visa Debit, back up to 1400 Wii Points now. This Virtual Console malarky is going to be the end of me, I tell you. In other VC news, Gunstar Heroes gets a 9 on IGN: http://uk.wii.ign.com/articles/750/750397p1.html
Hendo
I'm definately getting Gunstar Heroes on Friday, never played it before so I'll do a proper Impression somewhere. So tempting to buy stuff when I have the points just sitting there, but there's only F-Zero I'm interested in. Must.....stay....strong..... retroed
Super Mario 64 is in a lot higher res, full screen with no borders. Looks amazing, can't wait til I'm running a proper Scart! Not sure I'll get Gunstar Heroes, I have the GBA version. I think I've been using the VC and the Wii interface more than any real Wii games.
retroed
Games are up. Sim City Super Castlevania IV Baseball Ice Hockey R-TYPE No Super Probotector as mentioned above. They must be saving it for next week/forgotten about it.
