Maryokutai Posted May 30 Posted May 30 This came out of nowhere and there's not even a trailer yet, but here's a sequel to everyone's favourite platformer coming in September. There's a few screenshots on Steam, it looks like more of the same, which is a good thing in this case, but also introduces a co-op mode and it seems like there's a float mechanic as well (you can see them rotating their tails like, well, Tails from Sonic). The screenshot above also suggests new/more diverse biomes, as there weren't any ice stages in the original. I suppose this also means that the first game did well for them, which is good news for a change. Will pick this one up at launch for sure. 1
DANGERMAN Posted May 30 Posted May 30 I hope it's as good as the last one, and I'm glad we've all managed to buy enough copies to get them to make a sequel 1
Maryokutai Posted June 7 Author Posted June 7 We have a trailer now: Looks like more of the same, but as mentioned with additional unique tools per character (and it seems you can switch on the fly?) plus more elaborate set pieces during stages. Looks super good as expected, I have no doubt this will be another great platformer. They also mention that there's a demo out now, I wasn't able to check yet whether that's only on PS5 or everywhere.
mfnick Posted June 7 Posted June 7 Played the demo, yea it’s a lot of fun. Production values have been turned up a notch. I’m not 100% sure on the character switching though. Feels a bit awkward and ruins the flow a little.
Maryokutai Posted June 9 Author Posted June 9 I also tried it, the slow-mo is a bit odd when switching but it didn't bother me per se and I like how it resets movement options. Probably something we'll get used to quickly. What I didn't like is that the game runs at 30fps on Switch 2. The first one got a boost to 60fps so it was pretty much on par with other systems, so that's a bit unfortunate.
