The Midnight Walk

I think this first showed up on a PlayStation show, possibly as a VR game, but it's also playable normally. It's kind of claymation, although that does get a little lost behind how brooding and goth everything is, it's a good looking game though 

 

You play as the burnt one, you awake in a world devoid of fire and light where pretty much everyone is dead, or undead. So you've got talking heads, literal talking heads, but it's rare you'll see an actual "normal" inhabitant of the world. Instead it's filled with monsters who eat fire, and you of they spot you 

 

You eventually encounter a little fire pot, and your role is to guide him to the top of moon mountain so he can ignite the world again. There's various stories and tales you'll hear along the way, broken up in to chapters. I really like the one about the thief, I like the mood of it and how many people it seemed to touch. 

 

Gameplay wise there's not a ton to it. You need to work out how to light various things, so require more thought than others. Eventually you'll have chase sections, and areas where you have to hide from the cold. I do think it dragged at points, and it's not a long game, but all in all I enjoyed it, I really like the mood of it, but I'm not sure it's going to stay with me

Yeah, I think it was VR at first, I certainly hope it eventually hops to other systems, too. I really liked Lost in Random and even though this is entirely different that's reason enough for me to give it a go.

I played the first couple of chapters and really struggling to enjoy it. I think it’s meant to be a more visual and audio experience. And I played with headphones like recommended. But it’s really boring. I read before purchasing that it people really liked it even as a flatscreen game, but I dunno. The way everything towers over the player and lurches at you, definitely think this is more aimed as a VR title

It's a really good port (targeting 60fps), I'm playing it at the moment.
