They aren't calling this Bloodborne II, but it basically just seems to be a legally distinct version of that. Like Dark Souls from Demons' Souls

 

I'm really not as into FROM as I used to be but I'll have to at least try this one out, Bloodborne is one of my favorite games ever. I don't see trick weapons here but it looks like beast transformation is a big thing, something which was barely explored in Bloodborne (you could turn into a werewolf with a certain weapon, or a broccoli alien with a DLC one)

 

edit I've seen people say this might be more of a MP focused game like Nightreign, so maybe these Bloodborne comparisons are premature

With all the jumping around I don't think it looks as Souls like as some might expect.  It's got a great gothic style though, but where it lands on the Souls to action game spectrum we'll have to see.

Was excited when I first saw it on the Direct, but...

Hopefully it comes together better than the gameplay we've seen of the Darkreign beta but yeah I'm not much interested in that

 

I'm up for legally distinct Bloodborne as a handheld exclusive but not this extraction shooter stuff

It looks fine, I guess. When talking about Nintendo and reinventing franchises the other day, another thought I had was what new genres could they try? 
 

I was thinking I would love to see what Nintendo’s take on a souls-like would be. Even if it were a brand new title, or even a spin-off Zelda 

 

Fromsoft doing a Fromsoft game is interesting in itself and big it’s on Nintendo. But I would have preferred to see what a Nintendo souls-like looks like

The multiplayer part is a bit of a downer but I’m not against playing something like this completely.

 

The timing of this in the Direct was kind of hilarious though. A very un-Nintendo game given a very prominent placement.

I was disappointed this wasn't Castlevania until I saw the Fromsoft logo
