Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1+2 Remaster

The voice acting tapes on the Danny doc are really cool. It's great to see the actors in the booth together delivering the lines.

Also the cast of Metal Gear Solid have audition tapes, David Hayter as Raziel for instance.

No appearance by Amy Hunning tho. They briefly mention her influences, stuff like Dr Caligari, I'd have liked to see them really get into that literary and cinematic stuff and it makes the doc fairly incomplete without her.

Hennig seems very illusive and I get the feeling she simply doesn't like the spotlight. If you look at Naughty Dog's history, she never really was front and center during the Uncharted and early Last of Us days but the moment Druckman took over he was everywhere. I kind of find that admirable but I do agree that it would have been nice if she had been part of this. LoK would have been a very different, and likely very inferior, series without her input and direction.

One of the cool things about this remaster, explored in the documentary, is that it's led by a long time superfan who's essentially been working on fan made remasters of these games for decades. So it's a real labour of love in that sense.

I hope this does well to justify more games, but I'm still someone who feels like they have to beat Blood Omen 1 to get on board.

Honestly, it is a hard sell. Not the easiest game to replay or enjoy retroactively. To be fair, Soul Reaver does an excellent job of covering the main story beats of BO 1 without undue exposition.

This riddle plays with symbols and associations. Here's a breakdown of possible interpretations:

  1. Green Tick: This often symbolizes approval, correctness, or something being done.

  2. £25: Represents money, likely a specific monetary value.

Given the mix of symbols and ideas, the answer could be a gift card or voucher. It could represent:

  • The green tick symbolizes a valid or approved balance.
  • £25 indicates the monetary value.

So, the answer might be: A £25 gift card or voucher.

it's verified on Steam Deck, but you don't want to pay £25 for a 25 year old game. Which is fair.

The verification doesn't really relate to performance however, eventually it kind of does, but it just means it boots and doesn't require a 2nd launcher/log in, mouse/touch screen, or the magnifying tool

  • 4 weeks later...

Agreed. If there was a mid-tier offering with the map, the comic book and the OST I'd take it.

Also like to add this doesn't seem to be numbered, so it's probably like the TR Remasters and you can just buy them anywhere a bit later.
