Got Ubisoft+ to play this and 3 days early. I’ve put about 7 hours into this now and I’m quite enjoying it but some of the bad does come in dribs and drabs. Too much of the game so far has been stealth sections in which you cannot use weapons and if caught you surrender and are pushed to the beginning to have to do it all again.

 

Someone at Ubisoft must have thought the stealth section of Ocarina of Time was the best bit 😆

 

When not doing this though and playing along at a leisurely pace in cities or travelling the large gorgeous world it’s quite a blast and I look forward to getting more into it.

I'm glad someone is playing it here. I was certainly thinking about but I've never known a game get such conflicting notices - it's either the worst game ever made or a solid, enjoyable open worlder...

I want to play it on PC simply for the graphics, but according to DF video some of the graphics options break the game so wait for a patch

 

Largely the graphics options and features are in the Avatar game they put out last year. But I hate Avatar. The elongated blue people are weird and I want them to die. They are abominations. I can’t get in to the game because of it. Seeing their creepy hands pick stuff up. Blargh
 

So all those amazing graphics but in a Star Wars game is much better, even if it’s a bit mediocre. But have to wait for a patch or 3.

12hrs in now and it definitely does pick up from a 7 to an 8 after the first few hours of stealth here stealth there stealth everywhere. I've made some changes in the menus too to make it look less busy with Nix’s available actions and I’ve notched difficulty and health down to story (easy) because I kept being absolutely trounced. 
 

Reviews generally had positive things to say about the story but like most games I couldn’t care about any of it tbh. As it’s Star Wars it’s all wibble wobble this and flink plonk that. I’m alright thank you. 
 

I do like my first companion Waka though. He’s a fun guy who keeps being nervous and is my mechanic. Genuinely sounds like he’s about to brick it all the time poor bro. 
 

Nix is essentially your hacking from watch dogs. In fact this game is a greatest hits of Ubisoft game mechanics. Nix is from watch dogs, there’s leaning on stuff and listening in to peoples conversations from assassins creeds and the melee is from Ghost Recon. There’s even a bit of StarLink peppered in for good measure.

 

Apparently it’s only 15hrs long so I’m not sure how after 12hrs I’m still at the beginning and have only just been in space 😆 I suppose that’s down to both loving the exploration and hating the dying to have to restart whole sections.

Had a couple of glitches today I had to reload the game for. A collection mission and the goods weren’t loaded for me to collect and a listening in mission which didn’t load the prompt to do so. Of course I only knew it wasn’t me being a wally by looking up a guide for each and seeing I can’t progress without re loading ☹️
