Craymen Edge Posted July 15, 2024 Posted July 15, 2024 Minishoot' Adventures (I don't know why there's an apostrophe in the title) is a mashup of a 2D Zelda style game with a twin-stick shooter, and it's amazing. I played the demo during the recent Steam Nextfest, then bought it during the summer sale. The demo appears to be still available, and even at full price it's good value at under £13. The plot's about as light as you'd expect from this type of game, but it plays brilliantly. The movement and shooting feel great, exploring the maps for secrets is satisfying, and the abilities and upgrades to your ship as you progress are fun. I 100% completed the map, and beat the "true" boss in a bit over 13 hours. It's seems like it's only on Steam right now, but it absolutely ought to be on consoles. Here's hoping. 1
DANGERMAN Posted July 16, 2024 Posted July 16, 2024 I'm sure I heard someone else mention this over the weekend, praising it
mfnick Posted March 27 Posted March 27 I’ve got too many games on the go at the moment but booted this up for a quick go on Xbox GP too. 2 hours later I was still playing wondering where time was going. It’s great.
Maryokutai Posted March 28 Posted March 28 Didn't realise there was a topic for this. But yeah, it's really good, I played through it recently. Didn't go for the ultimate ending because I found the boss battles a bit tedious and didn't want to re-try some in case I failed, but otherwise there's not much to say, really well executed in every other aspect. I really like how much personality it had, too, despite all of it coming from little twirls and beeps the ships do when they're happy. 1
mfnick Posted April 7 Posted April 7 I’ve completed it now and it just stayed great the entire time. Such a great idea and executed far better than you could hope for. Im the same though, not goin for the true ending. I feel like I’ve had my fill. I did return to a couple of dungeons to head towards 100% and found myself starting to get tired of it so decided to end it on a high and leave it at the standard ending. Still got around 89% just playing normally & exploring where I wanted as I went. Enjoyed every minute.
