DANGERMAN Posted December 12, 2025 Posted December 12, 2025 I'd have been more than happy if they'd just done more of the same tbh, I loved Control and am toying with another play through before this comes out. I guess it could be that we still get anther game like that, that's Jessie's game, this is Dylan's, or even this changes halfway through
one-armed dwarf Posted February 12 Posted February 12 The combat looks sort of woolly tbh, but iirc this is more of an Action RPG than a character action game, and everything else about it looks really good anyway 2
mfnick Posted February 13 Posted February 13 Yea I was excited for this after the last trailer but in this one the combat looks a bit shit tbh. Doesn’t flow well at all.
one-armed dwarf Posted February 14 Posted February 14 I think the combat tbh is just going to be like the first game, but less ranged and more melee. I think a lot of people got tricked into thinking it was character action, comparing it to DmC: Devil may Cry (cause of the transforming weapons I suppose). But I know enough about Control and AW2 to think I will still like this game, I just won't go into it now expecting something that compares with a game in a more action focused genre. The action in Remedy games just seems secondary tbh That said, the other component, story and setting, I feel like I mostly had my fill of FBC in the first game and I don't know that Control needed a sequel. So I'm wondering what they come up with to make that part more interesting
Nag Posted February 14 Posted February 14 I've decided I'm staying well away from this unless it drops as a "freebie" on either consoles sub services. I already thought the first game was overrated and Alan Wake 2 turned me off the developers even more.
DANGERMAN Posted February 14 Posted February 14 it's not what I wanted from a sequel, but I do think it looks good, and I want more of the world. I still think there's something more to it, obviously plot wise, but I think it will lead to something
one-armed dwarf Posted June 19 Posted June 19 Remap saying positive things, they were unsure about the game before but are way into it now 1
Maf Posted June 19 Posted June 19 I am looking forward to it and confident it will be great. I just kinda wish they would move the release date because I want the game to do well.
Maf Posted August 12 Posted August 12 Parrying today is the headshots of the 2000’s where it became too powerful of a mechanic and actively disincentivised other mechanics. I don’t hate parries but I’m glad to see more games try move away from it I saw last night this is about £45 give or take so actually another reasonably priced game. Maybe it’s because the next 2 months are so crammed and competitive but a lot of games are coming in at under the £50 mark lately which is really cool 1
one-armed dwarf Posted August 26 Posted August 26 The combat still looks a bit like (Ninja Theory) DmC but with really low gravity and too much animation recovery, but Remedy are still the kings of style. I don't think anyone can top them in that regard, doing more with less is their whole thing edit, watching this back, it straight up has the weapons from DmC, the big axe and hulk hands. Got to be a bit of an influence, maybe
