merman1974 Posted September 15, 2022 Posted September 15, 2022 So, finished the Career Mode of Power Wash Simulator. That’s the first time in a long while I have been so focussed on a single game. 48 hours of play, cleaned up 33 of the 40 achievements along the way. It’s quirky, it’s humorous, and there’s something really satisfying every time you complete a section of the level and it goes “ding!” 3
AndyKurosaki Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 Im definitely glad this is coming to PlayStation soon. Having watched the Game Grumps piss about with it, I’m well up for it.
shinymcshine Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 Is there a level where you have to blast chewing gum off a pavement? If so I'm in!

There isn’t. Maybe someone should make Street Cleaner Simulator so people can do just that and make everything clean and shiny? 1
merman1974 Posted February 4, 2023 Author Posted February 4, 2023 PlayStation and Switch versions now out, and... All versions have the FREE Croft Manor DLC - five new levels inspired by Tomb Raider!
AndyKurosaki Posted February 4, 2023 Posted February 4, 2023 Been totally addicted to this since it came out on PS5. It’s strangely hypnotic, and satisfying to fire up some music/podcast, and crack on. Had a hilarious 2 player session last night. Only issue is, that only the host can earn stars, or choose what equipment to use they’ve unlocked. Still, bloody great game. 3
Fragpuss Posted February 5, 2023 Posted February 5, 2023 It is an awesomely fun game, slap on some late 90s garage rock or some 80s belters and zone out while power washing like a real man... except without the power UH UH UH as Tim The Toolman Taylor would say 3
merman1974 Posted March 20, 2023 Author Posted March 20, 2023 The new Midgar DLC has arrived - five levels themed around Final Fantasy VII, including the Scorpion Sentinel and Shinra Generator. 1
shinymcshine Posted March 22, 2023 Posted March 22, 2023 Gave this a go on Xbox Series S, but after cleaning the van, then half the garden it just wasn't engaging enough for me to enjoy. On career mode there didn't seem to be any 'game' there (i.e. no time bonus, water saving bonus etc) so just clean until it goes ping then do the next bit and so on.

The satisfaction of cleaning is reward itself. I get your point though. I really enjoyed it, but the skatepark was a chore, and I imagine later levers probably get bigger. It's a good switch off podcast/music game. 2
shinymcshine Posted March 22, 2023 Posted March 22, 2023 It's a good benefit of Gamepass that it at least gives me the opportunity to try it out - and for some niche games I daresay some titles that I wouldn't perhaps buy will click and I'll enthuse about (Tainted Grail Conquest to give a recent example). Likewise I gave Flight Simulator a go this morning (via Cloudplay*) and after messing around actually progressed through the training elements, before that all too familiar feeling of "oh yes, I always like the idea of these games, but they aren't that much fun", something I first experienced back on the ZX Spectrum with Nightflite. * this seemed to work really well, albeit my intention was to play this whilst downloading Outer Worlds - but it seemed that using Cloudplay actually paused the download (which bandwidth wise probably makes sense, esp. as I put FS on best settings, but was a little irksome). 1

You can do Challenges - Limited time or amount of water - and four Special levels that are really fun. And while I get what you say about “game”, there is an ongoing plot told through the text messages and a very clever ending. But if it did not grab you in a couple of levels then it might not be for you. 1
mmmark Posted September 1, 2024 Posted September 1, 2024 I played this over the course of a couple of months mopping up (pun intended) every achievement along the way. I absolutely loved every level and the odd story that seemed to appear towards the end involving ancient monuments and aliens. The final clean of the career perhaps does take the piss a bit if you imagine a cleaning game version of an end of game boss they want you to find exhausting and a long time to beat/clean. The only base game achievements I haven’t gotten are from the challenge mode which involves cleaning something as fast as possible which kinda goes against what I like about the game so I likely won’t bother ruining it for myself after 57hrs & 24m of relaxing zen like game playing.
mmmark Posted March 13 Posted March 13 Wallace and Gromit Powerwash DLC is a lot of content for £5.85 💦 Just spent hours on it but not done yet.
mmmark Posted April 2 Posted April 2 Finished W&G, Back to the Future and now on Shrek. Normally levels start off small and get larger. This one starts with the whole town square covered in shit. Spent about an hour clearing 30% of it. Kept nodding off 😪
regemond Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Been playing this after rinsing through Spray Paint Simulator. My kid made the joke that "you've made the mess, now you've gotta clean it all up again", and I can't even argue the logic. Anyway, this is the third game in this genre in pretty quick succession (after Crime Scene Cleaner, and Spray Pain Sim), and the second time I've played overall. It's still just as relaxing as it was in the past. Making the glowing bits not glow anymore is just an incredibly peaceful experience, and those pings as each item cleans makes my brain go "brrrr" in the best way every time. I'm just plodding along through the levels right now. I forgot there were achievements tied to the bigger levels, so missed one or two trophies because I'm playing on PS5 this time. Nothing major - cleaning the gutters last on the bungalow, blasting the football up the slide, doing the patio stones first on the first level, so if I can get the trophy for 150 stars on career mode this time, after that achievement never popped on Series X, then I'll try to get the platinum. It was one of this week's freebies, too, so all the DLC is included. I'm guessing that'll add another 40-odd hours to the play time, and I'm not mad about it. 1
