I haven’t looked at much Multiverses because the cast doesn’t do much for me. I like the DC characters and Tom and Jerry. The rest I’m too old to know.

If the game is good I’ll still play it, but it’s less appealing than Smash is because of the line up

I know what you mean. I watched the trailer. I recognised the DC ones, T& J, Shaggy, Bugs Bunny and Taz. Then there was some young girl with a rapier? Another woman with an afro and a yellow ..thing. That I only recognise from some gifs I've used. Plus some weird looking characters on the right at the end.

Spoiler

Oh and Iron Giant! Didn't expect to see him here??

An early access demo for JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R is available now until June 22 on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. The early access demo for the fighting game features four characters from the series, including Jonathan Joestar, Jotaro Kujo, DIO, and Jolyne Cujoh.

No rollback btw

🤷‍♂️ I saw a couple of comments mention that in the video link. No idea what that means, but I downloaded the demo regardless.

Anyway, it was fun. I don't know if the command list is restricted in the demo? Otherwise, it isn't as deep, move-wise as I expected from something like Tekken. Of the four characters, I clicked with DIO the most. I am very Fighting Game rusty though. The four face buttons being three attack buttons and a dodge. It took a little getting used to, even in practice. The Stand button being one of the shoulders is also a ..different mechanic.

The game looks very nice though, very stylised and definitely very JoJo. I'll keep my eye out for the main release.

Rollback from what I know is a sort of buffer in netcode which caches frames of input data from both players and makes predictions about what they will press next. If it 'guesses' wrong, it rewinds back a few frames with the correct information.

That's what I was getting at with the Dio on the stairs gif, lol. The reason it's done is to keep online gaming feeling responsive. Tho if rollback performs badly it might as well be like trying to approach Dio on the stairs with all the teleporting and rewinding

Anyway rollback seems like it's probably hard to implement for 3d fighters but I rly don't know.

There was me thinking it was just a meme of That scene from the Manga/anime😄

That reminds me of the DBZ game I had on Wii. Took it online and... We both were basically teleporting across the screen. The lag was severe, to say the least.

Here’s me being a poser showing my older school fighting games that in most cases I have no business owning

That was the Street Fighter 2 I remember playing at my friends house: Turbo! Including that one. There is a lot of nostalgia with five of those (MvC, Soulcalibur, Tekken 3 and Fighters Destiny). Still never played anything SNK. Or Killer Instinct, for that matter. DoA and Virtua Fighter never interested me.

That's a very nice collection, @Maf👍

SNK, the Virtua Fighter games, Dead or Alive and Alpha 3 I’ve never played. I think I picked them up in second hand shops and stuff years ago. The rest I’ve played a little bit of. The only games I’ve played a lot of are KI and Soul Calibur.

I realised I forgot to put Smash Bros N64 on there too. The shame 😆 that’s the game I’ve played most of.

I also realised I don’t have my copy of Power Stone anymore. There’s one for about £25 on eBay. Maybe I need it.

Alpha 3 is amazing. Possibly my favourite SF game ever. Alpha 2 may just pip it though.

Mega props to Saturn games. Even if they are 2 of the most common. VF2 will always be a classic.

Never played that either. Melee was my introduction to Smash Bros.

that's a very good find tbf. I think PAL SNK vs Capcom is probably worth quite a bit, it's not as good as the sequel but it's still good. I've no idea how the PS1 version of Alpha 3 ranks against the Dreamcast and Saturn, not as good I suspect but Alpha 3 is a great game

I really want to get MvC2 on Dreamcast. I was looking at it last night on eBay. Maybe I get it soon.  It’s be cool to have, I think.

but also it’s just kind of posing it’s not like I have history with MvC2 or would play them. I think I played it once at a friends house for 30 mins

Wawa DBFZ champion at CEO. I don’t even think he played at his best. Probably nerves got to him. But still crazy. The spark bait at around 20 minutes was so fucking good. His final team is fucking cheap, though.

Lord Knight got knocked out of top 24 at CEO against a Ky 😭

Only match of his I saw too. I'm bad luck.

Fucking Ky he was too good before. This one was non-stop ferocity. Just how do you beat him.

I watched the gg stuff yday but have no interest today cause it has 4 Rams and 4 Nagos in it, and hardly any of the cool interesting chars like jacko or testament that I was hoping to see more representation of. Stale bread gear

I dunno the current state of things, but I hope a Goldlewis wins. Or the one jacko.

It's still fun because of how high level the games are. Just saw some real crazy game between a Zato and a Nago

Well yeah, that's a fun match cause it's maybe the only bad one Nago has and Zato pressure is super technical and nago actually has to work hard to turn things around

The best sets I saw yday were between a Goldlewis and a Zato, I can't remember the player names. Think one of them was called garlic bread, (not stale bread)
