Watched the Evo Tokon tournament and was really fun. Still people mostly using 1 character but people, who have played the latest build saying the team aspect is much stronger, but people not doing it in tourney as they’re trying to win

The only thing is I hope when playing it, understanding the screen gets easier. Because it’s mad confusing to look at. All the characters, all the effects, the speed. Yikes.

Also having to block 3 assists is going to be very hard lol. It’s hard enough in DBFZ dealing with someone who is good at using 2 assists. Adding another one and they come back so quick.

I felt the excitement watching it, though. Can’t believe we’re only around a month away…

The Ludwig vs Tyler1 streamer match was so funny. The smack talk, the wash, the mid set crash out. Coincidentally I started to like Ludwig recently seeing clips of the FLSR podcast. That set was funny

Stayed up all night watching Evo. Now I need to sleep but all I wanna do is try 2XKO lol. That was a good night of video games

Street Fighter 6 top 8 was fun, and you can’t ask for a more skill based fight than that but, man. Fuck Blanka lol

One excuse I see time to time about not getting in to fighting games is the “I didn’t play it when it was new and now I’m too far behind”

Which implies that if someone started playing on day 1 they’d be really good

But the truth is you were always only going to be as good as you are. There’s always people been playing for decades, people who are just naturals and pick it up fast, and people that sit there grinding the game all day.

You were always going to get 2 touched, perfected and made to feel dumb even if you started 3 months before anyone else

My point being is; there’s never been a better time to start Dragon Ball FighterZ

I don't agree with that. Your skill ceiling doesn't matter in the beginning and there's a difference between playing people who are knowledgeable in the genre and only figuring stuff out and those who just hop around and mash buttons. If you fight the former the learning curve is fun, interesting and organic and it happens alongside the community as a whole. If you fight the latter and if you want to improve, you're not getting anywhere. But you also can't just skip ranks or hook up with people who would, on paper, be on your level, because the knowledge gap is too wide after jumping in with a significant delay.

If your entire friend group starts learning a new language and only speaks in that language when getting together, you're not going to have a good time in their company if you only did start your studies six months after them.

It's not impossible to make up for the lost time, but it requires significantly more discipline and commitment. And I know in advance that I can't invest that much energy in a game anymore, so I'm either there on week 1 or not at all.
