Nag Posted June 15, 2022 Posted June 15, 2022 Level 101 and high end 50 hours now... just beat Morgott the Omen King. In terms of main campaign (forget side quests... apart from Ranni's) how much longer is there? I'm starting to feel a little fatigue set in.
one-armed dwarf Posted June 15, 2022 Posted June 15, 2022 You're in the home stretch. But the home stretch is a gauntlet of bullshit boss fights. So anywhere from 10 to 25 hours, depending on how fast you throw the controller and console out of the window 1

I never rush an RPG. Even an ARPG. For example, you get to recruit 108 characters in Suikoden 1. 60 of which are playable. By end game, I had them all on the same level IE Max Stats

For one thing I haven't been wondering around blindly... I've been following a content guide and enjoying the game all the more for it.🙂

Nag Posted June 15, 2022 Posted June 15, 2022 I'm sorry, I didn't realise the way I play games had such far reaching consequences...

mfnick Posted June 15, 2022 Posted June 15, 2022 I wasn’t rushing it to start with and only consulted a guide every now and then. Just found it strange how most other people I read posts from were putting in 70+ hours and still only around level 70, basically hitting a level a hour when I was well above that.
OCH Posted June 15, 2022 Posted June 15, 2022 In my experience, when it comes to From Soft games, from DeS to Elden Ring. The only time you ever really need a guide is for obscure NPC stuff. For example, I found Blaidd and later, Ranni's quest, purely through exploration. I thought that was the fun/main draw of open world games? Offline and with only a couple of Ashes to rely on, I managed to work my way through the game. One protracted late game boss gauntlet until the end. I took my time to explore and level grind. Spurred on into doing so after running into the occasional wall EG Margit.

It's because you used the increased rune talisman wasn't it? I assume it is the same case for Nag. 20 hours ago, Nag said: Level 101 and high end 50 hours now... just beat Morgott the Omen King. Yeah I'd second what Kyle said, 10-25 hours, I think it took me way longer than that though but I'd have to look back on my posts. You've two main areas to go now, one bigger one and then one which is more akin to a legacy dungeon kind of size. For me personally, I did go mainline the area after Morgott with a little bit of exploration thrown in (mainly for items/spells I thought would be effective against Malenia) and then the area after that. It didn't take me too long from memory. It's mainly the big area that can be a bit of a pain to navigate at times, once you're past that though it's all relatively straightforward and linear in terms of story bosses and areas. 1

radiofloyd Posted June 19, 2022 Author Posted June 19, 2022 Back on this. Taking a break from it wasn’t having any effect on my job hunt so I decided to dive back in. Did a couple of dungeons outside Leyendell, one of those Hero’s Grave ones, which had a reasonably difficult boss fight at the end, and a catacombs level. After that, decided to head into Leyendell. I found numerous bonfires and numerous routes to explore so it looks like I’m going to be busy here for a while. Currently around level 130 after 115 hours. 2
Nag Posted June 19, 2022 Posted June 19, 2022 So today I hit a massive (literally) roadblock... The Fire Giant...🙄 This twat one shots me if he so much as looks in my general direction, I gave him three or four tries and then just left him... I wasn't much in the mood for that kind've silly nonsense today. Instead I've decided to try for some of the bosses that are tied to trophies which will also (hopefully) earn me some extra levels. I really hope that dick doesn't end up being the thing that ends up putting a stop to my playthrough though.

Nag Posted June 19, 2022 Posted June 19, 2022 That's where I'm at now.... I want to advance the plot, that dumbass is stopping me.

You are more or less where I was before tapping out. If you got a key item from the Albinauric village, I'd advise you to head for the large castle, west of the Fire Giant arena. Defeating the boss there will send you to another new map.
mfnick Posted June 19, 2022 Posted June 19, 2022 Always weird reading when someone struggles with a boss you find easy in these games and vice versa. Fire Giant was one of the easiest for me.
