If it allows a more direct approach I’m absolutely interested then.

& og Perfect Dark did have that hacking computer stuff in but it was still just a shooter mainly with little to no stealth at all. I’ve also just gone off immersive sim type stuff as I’ve gotten older. Playing games like Dishonored and Prey, I’ve realised I’ve not got the patience and imagination to play them in an interesting always anymore and they don’t work very well as just FPS games.

I think the trick to a game like Prey is to just stick it on the hardest difficulty, cause it limits the effectiveness of a straightforward approach and forces you to play slowly and think if there's another solution, or if you should explore more. I do this with Deus Ex as well (only played the first one)

I don't know the situation with Dishonoured, never played them. But in Prey and DE I play quite violently. Apparently Dishonored has fun consequences for that

I get the sense here though that this game is far more straightforward and limited than people are taking. Like I hope it's a high budget immersive sim, but I don't actually get that sense here. It's going to be pretty linear I bet. But maybe that's just this mission in this trailer

I doubt this will be anywhere near as complex as something like Prey, and it's probably best not to set expectations to that level. But it will seemingly bring back those multiple mission objectives maf keeps mentioning from the good old days in a new fashion and that seems to be multiple angles to complete missions. It's probably closer to a Splinter Cell with the added bonus of shooting being a legitimate option than a proper immersive sim, but considering the state of singleplayer FPS games I think that's still a big win for both the genre and us.

They should be true to the original and harder difficulties have more objectives

Yeah, I don't even know what to say anymore. What a despicable shitshow this all has turned into.

Small silver lining here is that Crystal Dynamics can now focus 100% on the next Tomb Raider, but even that just feels like a victory not worth celebrating.

Wow... studio didn't even see one game to completion.

I'm very worried for the State of Decay devs now also.🤞

All of this is years of fuck ups from bad management. And the worse the decisions got the higher up the food chain it went and the bad decisions got even worse.

Like one or two games get cancelled. It’s not unheard of. Most games get cancelled before they get announced but still.

But studios spending years and never finishing games. This, Everwild, Fable, Gears 6, etc. Like what is happening, dude. You have all the workers and all the money. So where;s the problem?

Gears 6

Things are bad enough without imaginary games being cancelled too...😭

I meant Gears E-Day

Fingers (and everything else) crossed but that hasn't been mentioned... yet.

This hasn’t been canned has it?

And neither has this...

Not cancelled but in the case of Fable it’s 5+ years and still unfinished. I get this happens to some games but Xbox’s track record for this kind of thing this generation is crazy

Well that's a big blow to me, it was what I was most looking forward to out of their portfolio.  Can't remember the last time I was more disappointed by a cancellation 😐
