Tho I don't even think you did bad in that fight, despite losing. It's just a good zato is rare and they are a demon at keeping pressure and hit confirming shit. Which they should be, they play the hardest character in the game so they best be good. You need to hit that eddie boy first

 

Also the zato command grab, now there is a powerful command grab. Not in terms of damage, but how long the attack animation is and the time it gives to restore eddie and keep the pressure up and how fast he can glide in and do it.

KnowKami is an amazing zato player, easily my favourite GG streamer in general. Doesn't get tilted like other people do (I watch Sonic Sol who plays I-No but the guy gets super toxic at her weak neutral options)

I think what might be key to Zato for me is instead of double air dash then rose jump, maybe two jumps for more height, dash than rose jump. Maybe that will put me behind him when he does the shield thing. 
 

I did see a good tip from a while ago that to make it easy use a super to kill Eddie, then he is easier to rush. Don’t think I actually tired it in this match but before I’ve tried and can’t get the super out. 
 

If I ever made a fighting game I would get rid of 236 and it would just be 23. That’s close enough.

I know you've moved on the conversation regarding grabs but I think the problem is Maf has come from DBFZ as his first proper fighting game which doesn't have conventional grapplers but it is just a kind of character you'll just have to learn how to deal with.  Like already thoroughly said, it's not all about reactions it's about decision making, and sometimes you'll make the wrong one but that's how anyone gets hit by anything.

I don't actually have much I-No matchup experience. I know the theory, but the mind games of the mirror is weird cause you're trying to do the same thing to each other.

The stream is archived, maf you should look at changing that setting on twitch cause your shit just vanished into the ether. I had to clip the washing I gave you for historical preservation reasons, this is very important

 

Also my inputs were v unclean today.. thinking of all these chat bubbles that pop up on the interface on twitch with PS5. I had a ram fight where I didn't even do the matchup the correct way which is to whiff punish and stroke under. That's a MU which is heavily in I-No's favour. If a ram player came into this thread complaining about that matchup I would take it more seriously

If you're complaining about the super that is a complaint about the matchup. Even if you're just complaining about a character's 2k that is a matchup complaint

 

I looked back at that clip, which is uploading to youtube but can be seen at the end of the stream up above. The reason I didn't jump the super is she did 2k->2d but no note. I guess that makes it easier to execute cause of no blockstun, but I usually expect note.

 

Not that it matters, it's a very honest and dilligent super and I dealt with it in a very mature manner as can be seen

My man, you have to enjoy the mind games in stuff like this and stop thinking everything is about skill and reflexes. Sometimes it's about being a fucking cunt. Sometimes a sick cunt, but a cunt nevertheless.

 

I failed to notice a grab setup cause I assume every I-No would use the meaty note, which turned out to be wrong cause I apply my own habits to everyone else. That is a lesson in misreading the situation. However never underestimate the fact that someone will just use the exact same stuff on you to meme on you. That's the way you look at things like this

 

What you really should be doing is watching the other fights from that stream where people called it out and even whiff punished it.

That video I posted has some good insights into weighing up risk for different options against different characters. It's about trying to call stuff out and not looking at every wrong choice as some massive failure

 

I'm trialing some anti millia tech, cause I lab matchups unlike somebody else

 

Bitches who run at you with c.S, there's some nice combo routes off of a 5S counter hit with PRC. Tho the combo routes are really fiddly depending on how much you delay PRC. If you do it fast there's another route off of j.D but it's too fiddly imo
