Dick inspired walking sim/hidden object puzzle thing. You control a burned-out, drugged-out failed sci-fi writer in 70's California finding glitches where alternate realities are leaking into the world. It's only a couple of hours long and you don't really do a lot, but I enjoyed the art style and experiencing the 3 different parallel worlds in the game. And I only paid a quid for it, so it didn't need to be ground-breaking to be worth it.

Everything I love about Miles Morales except for better IMO. I even think it looked better just because it was brighter and had more colour. The only downside was partly caused by my own desire to platinum it. The crimes became a real chore towards the end, it just asks you to do far too many and there’s barely any variety in them meaning a lot of repetition. Half the number of those and it would have been so much better and left an even better impression. Apart from that one issue which can be avoided if you don’t go for all trophies, it’s brilliant. Surprisingly emotional too. 9/10 Edit 10/2/21 - Completed all the DLC. Nothing amazing, but worth playing for the pretty good little story when it’s included in this package. If I’d have paid more than £5 for them individually I’d have been pissed though.

It's a game jam project so very short, but it was well written and funny. I think the developer is now looking into upgrading it for a proper release. Life Is Strange 2: Episode 2 - Rules (PC) It continues to deliver for me so far. A good episode. Fights In Tight Spaces (Prologue) (PC) Free prologue chapter for Fights In Tight Spaces, which is coming to Steam Early Access later this month. I guess it's technically kind of a demo but the developer chose to call it a prologue, and give it it's own steam page, so whatever. The game is a card-based tactical unarmed combat game, where you James Bond-like character fights off multiple assailants using movement and fighting abilities drawn from a card deck. It's stylish and works very well. I liked it a lot.

I want to play them now so started with this one, I had pretty much forgotten all of it. It's a pretty straightforward point and click adventure game and feels quite old now. Being built on Adventure Game Studio means it's' pretty low tech as well. I have enjoyed some of this dev's over games, and this one was good enough to want to continue to the next one. The Norwood Suite (PC) Very weird and surreal walking sim set in a hotel themed on a (fictional) famous musician. You wander round doing favours for people, opening secret passages and solving simple puzzles. It's not a great looker but has a certain charm to it, and the in-game world holds together well and was interesting to explore. https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/the-norwood-suite-hotel-game
DANGERMAN
@Craymen EdgeThe Norwood Suite was the last game I reviewed for Bitparade. I remember the press release for it talking about the developer as though I was supposed to know who he was. Seems this is his style and he has a bit of a cult following. I didn't hate it, a couple of bits were interesting and fairly funny, but it was a bit hard to look at

There's another game from the same developer free on Steam called Off-Peak, and it's very much the same style. I won't be rushing to play it, but I may have a look at some stage. I’ve played Off-Peak, it’s ok. It’s a one hour game if memory serves.

This reminded me that I never fully finished the original game back in the day. It's very much a 90's point and click adventure: some of the puzzles are a bit obscure, and going back and forth between locations can get tiresome, but I did enjoy it. For its age, it still looks pretty good.

I liked it a lot. It managed to guide you in the right direction with very little text and no spoken language, although I did get lost a couple of times. The way the world moved around was great. It took me just over 11 hours, so didn't outstay it's welcome.
