I remember getting asked before why I would double dip on a steam game after Epic exclusivity ends, lol. Well this is the opposite case of than then. Tbf, H2 is 80% off and seems like IO are trying to make things as fair as possible. But it is still a bit shit. They did say it would be free before

 

I think Hitman 1 is free if you pre order but it's a bit confusing how all this works.

You get the levels from the previous game free if you own it on the same store, otherwise you can buy the 'Legacy Pack' DLC for either/both of the previous game's stages.

 

Going EGS exclusive has messed it up, because they have Hitman 2016 and Hitman 3 on the store, but for some reason, not Hitman 2. The 80% discount is for the access pack dlc.

 

I'm still feeling I might as well wait a year+ on this for exclusivity to end, and shop around for a good deal.

I did have it pre-ordered for ages but finances are tight at the moment so will pick it up when I get paid a week later.

 

I still haven’t finished all the Hitman 2 missions though, need to get back to that before I make a start on this. Got up to the Bombay mission.

^ Thats good to know (ive got the previous ones on steam). I do want to get this but its more the price putting me off, maybe cheap pc games are coming to an end and ive been spoiled in the past, i guess ill get used to it eventually.

Yea sort of sounds like whatever backend service they need to get steam and epic accounts to talk to each other fell behind, nothing necessarily malicious on IO or Epic's end

 

I am guessing they won't have this worked out before release, anyway at least I can save some money. I'll probably just jump straight from 1 to 3. Not bothered about the story anyway, it's all about the Hitman-ing

I wonder if Warner Bros. are the hold-up here. They published Hitman 2, after SquareEnix and IO parted ways following Hitman 2016.

Excited but I'll have to leave my computer on all night to download on my crap connection

 

edit cant even start download until tomorrow afternoon, so not sure I will get to play on release just yet.

Once Hitman 3 goes live and the transfer process is complete I should be able to delete Hitman 2. Amazing that IO have managed to make the install of 3 half the size of Hitman 1+2, yet include all previous content.

Great to see IOI have done their homework, seems a fantastic game on all systems. Native 4K on XSX is impressive, apparently is a little framier than the PS5 though.

 

Need to finish H2 before I get round to this but I think it’ll be my first Feb purchase once I get paid.

Out of every game I've played I feel like the Hitman games are the smoothest playing ones while also looking pretty good.

 

They are really underappreciated, technically speaking. That Paris level in the first game with the fashion show is still hugely impressive.

I think there is only one spot that it dropped below 60fps in Digital Foundry's time with Hitman 3, and it went to 55 for a couple seconds.

 

Definitely an impressive feat no matter what platform you're playing on. I just wish I could get the progression carryover to work, I'm itching to start the game.
