DisturbedSwan Posted February 26, 2020 Posted February 26, 2020 Famitsu article has leaked, translation by ResetEra user --R Quote In basic: -First game Platinum owns the IP of 100% and are self-publishing. -Game challenges and is completely different than anything they've made before, they want to exceed and betray expectations -Says "Viewtiful Joe is a transformative hero like Kamen Rider", "Wonderful 101 is a hero squadron", "GG is a huge hero." -UPDATE: My take was wrong, not touch controls, the action feel of the game is important but not the main focus of the title. Thanks to @Aeana for the correction -Launching on all existing platforms, if they can. -Goal is to have 100 people working on it, 15 people actively working on it now but team is expanding. -Tencent offered to publish and fund this game, but refused because they want full control and ownership of this particular game. -Say the last two games of the Platinum 4 are new games and not ports, the fourth and last one is a huge secret that is something "very interesting".

Maryokutai Posted February 29, 2020 Posted February 29, 2020 Sounds more like "Announced Two Years Too Soon - The Game" 1
Maf Posted February 29, 2020 Posted February 29, 2020 I assume either they’re really excited about it or it’s an investor thing for the new studio
AndyKurosaki Posted March 1, 2020 Posted March 1, 2020 Bloody love Platinum, so whatever this is, I’m in. Oh. And it’d be nice if they did a Metal Gear Revengence remaster/sequel. Never going to happen, but a man can dream.
Maryokutai Posted February 3, 2025 Posted February 3, 2025 Well, five years later it seems very likely that this is very much dead: https://www.eurogamer.net/platinumgames-quietly-removes-all-mentions-of-project-gg-from-website Considering a lot of talent behind this project left (IIRC Kamiya spoke publicly about this project being partially responsible for his departure) I think it's safe to assume it has either been quietly cancelled or news of its cancellation will follow shortly. Getting a bit worried about Platinum, I get the feeling that NG4 is some kind of make-or-break point for them.
DANGERMAN Posted February 3, 2025 Posted February 3, 2025 they're in a strange position where I'd almost want them to get bought to sort out their management, but that would also 100% be the death of them because none of their games perform
