Jimboxy Posted December 1, 2019 Author Share Posted December 1, 2019 First Draft New Film of the year Midsommar Once Upon A Time In Hollywood Us Avengers: Endgame Loved Midsommar just because it's really weird, not sure it's a horror as such but the creepy cult with a super bright colour pallet was really affective. Once Upon... Felt like a return to form for QT to me, really enjoyed it. Us was a great twisty high concept home invasion horror that had some interesting underlying themes, not sure if it was as immediate as Get Out, but it's possibly the better film. I've included Endgame, not because it's particularly good, but it was an impressive culmination to a decade of film making that managed to weave everything together and not be a hot mess. As I said, it isn't great but I'm pretty sure it's the best it could have been. Discovered Film of the year TV Show of the year Jack Ryan S2 Chernobyl The Boys The Mandalorian Great year for telly. Album of the year The Chemical Brothers - No Geography. Listened to this loads this year. But this was genuinely brilliant. TV show: It’s a close call between The Boys, and Chernobyl. I haven’t watched enough of Witcher or Watchmen to include those. But they’re both definite candidates.
