Hendo
I didn't know the demo was up, I thought it was just the beta? I'm well up for this in single player form but it takes a lot for me to go death match.

Hendo
I'll be picking this up this week, hopefully. Glad the single player is good as I was starting to think that shooters are shoe-horning single player modes into a game that was made to be multi first - hence why I loved Bioshock. TopGunKnacker
really hinn? i thought the mp maps were superb, the classes well balanced, the actual gunfights exciting all whilst looking fantastic. nothing beats watching somebody duck evasively behind a thin wall only to realise your assault rifle goes through (insert thin building material here, corrogated metal for example) as he gets riddled with invisible death. there was loads of these magic moments, but to be fair there was 4 of us in the same room playing which is always much more fun. In my opinion, its much better than halo 3's multiplayer

In my opinion, its much better than halo 3's multiplayer the multiplayer on COD 4 has just become ghey where ppl just play the same game non bloody stop like counter strike n tac ops. not many ppl play for fun but just to lvl, i seen like lvl 40s already! Hendo
I'll be picking this up this week along with Galaxy, Portrait of Ruin, Touch Detective (maybe), SEGA Rally and Guitar Hero III. Chances of playing and finishing them all? Slim to none.
Hendo
I've been playing me some CoD4 and it feels like it's older siblings of the Medal of Honour series. That is, like Swallow says in the Halo thread, it's just like you feel you're on a movie set or one of those fairground rides where you go along a set path and a cardboard cut-out springs out. It also reminds me of Black and makes me pine for a new version to that. It's very good so far, but very few FPS's really get me that interested and so far while it may be an awesome game for fans of the series or genre, I've prefered HL2, Halo 3 and, Christ, even Gears! Centy
Wait till you play as Cpt Price and go back to the old Ukraine the sniper rifle is the fucking dogs bollocks. I finished the singleplayer campaign in about 2 hours so the linearity of it didnt bother me with the exception of helping a wounded soldier to the pick up site. Multiplayer is where its at find a full server (if thats how it works on Live) and make sure its free for all on the map Shipment haha its fucking insanity. Hendo
To be fair I'm not that far into it, I've just finished the bit at the TV station. What I do like is that all 1000 achievement points are single-player only which is great for people like me who don't venture into the deathmatch arena that much. retroed
Hmm, I think I may pick this up one day. I read the GamesTM review earlier and it was very positive, also.
Centy
Well I wouldn't recommend this for single only it's just too damn short. Multi is the real appeal though it's sickeningly unbalanced for new players and if you're rubbish avoid it's very skill driven. This is very much based on the PC version though and I know the 360 version lacks a few features but shouldn't make much difference.
retroed
Well I got this for Christmas from my lovely wife, and I'm loving the single player experience. I haven't even taken it online yet, I'm scared of being beaten to a pulp by hardcore leveled up dudes. I played up until, and a bit past, the All Ghillied Up mission last night, and what a fantastic mission that was, crawling along whilst the enemy passes by, and then the sniping bit near the end, and escorting your colleague (I thought that was going to be rubbish, it wasn't). It's full of quality set pieces that really stand out. Everyone mentions how short the single player campaign is, but with the amount of fun I'm having with it so far, I couldn't care less! I may even attempt it on Veteran once I've wrapped it up on its first playthrough. Graphically and presentation wise, it's up there with the very best.
