retroed
There's a new Picross RPG game that was both announced and launched today. @Hendo https://www.nintendo.co.uk/Games/Nintendo-Switch-download-software/PictoQuest-1617140.html Currently 15% off.

mfnick
Can you use the touch screen in handheld mode to play it?
Jimboxy
Also bought.

Quote NWR: Are the controls buttons only or can you use the touchscreen? HB: Just button controls. This is mainly due to the fact that we have large grids. In portable mode, with only fingers, the player would certainly have lost in accuracy and readability.
retroed
I played to 30% progress last night, and loved every second.
OCH
I watched the video, didn't really understand what I was looking at but, the idea of a RPG hybrid did remind me of Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords, which I sank many hours into back on my old DS. So I'll keep this one on the radar.

OCH
Great game. One of those unexpected, random finds I picked up purely from reading the box.
retroed
Yep, Puzzle Quest is great. And now the music just started playing in my head.
shinymcshine
Puzzle Quest was great, but then again so was Might & Magic Clash of Heroes on the DS too. Meanwhile I've picked this game up, and seems pretty good (but maybe short, 25% done in less than an hour)
shinymcshine
Unsurprisingly progress slowed when I reached the 20x15 grids, shame there doesn't seem any way to zoom in with these ones.
DANGERMAN
I started this before work this morning. Granted I woke up 2 hours before my alarm so am not at my best, but the time pressure when you're facing an enemy on the larger grids is ruining me ?
shinymcshine
I'm now on the 20x20 grids, 70% down.
Jimboxy
Done the first 25% in pretty much one sitting, in to the wood area. It's good, I've been playing it purely as picross, not really done anything with the other mechanics but I'll need to start to now I think. The design is lovely, I'm surprised Jupiter haven't done something similar themselves.
Hendo
I'm about 40% in on this. I'm enjoying it, but really missing the function from the Jupiter games where you can put fake squares in to test stuff. Unless it's there and I missed the option? It isn't, there are a few QoL things missing from this that put me off playing, the other is the ability to hold down ZR (I think) to count squares as well.
