DANGERMAN Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 I do think PlayStation sort of messed up by not going big the way Microsoft did, but then I suppose in a couple of months none of us will remember this and it won't be a problem 1
mfnick Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 Yep. Less than a week ago people were saying Xbox is finished. Should go multi plat only, give up etc. Now everyone’s sucking their dick. Honestly, it’s insane.
Nag Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 This is an honest question @mfnick cos I'm genuinely interested... have you used your Xbox since those redundancies?
mfnick Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 I played Hellblade 2 yea. But it’s no longer my most used console. That shit won’t stop me playing and buying Xbox’s but I really respected how they were operating over the last few years & they screwed it royally.
Maf Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 I’m a bit cooler on their show than most people because I dislike Bethesda which there was a lot of, but they did have a great show, and it’s what they need. After what is probably one of their worst years ever they need a line up like that. Spencer did say in he’s IGN interview that the multi-format strategy is here to stay, so we’ll see how it pays off. But I’m glad they had a good show and for now, Xbox has a good vibe about it Although tbh I think @mfnick hit the nail on the head with he’s summary of the show when he said it’s always next year with Xbox. That’s absolutely bang on. I been waiting for Fable since 2020 and it’s still next year lol But ultimately it’s all entertainment and if they do the right things and entertain, it doesn’t mean they haven’t had a shit year, and I still don’t have faith in the strategy long term, but if people can feel good about Xbox right now that’s better than not. I’m just glad they had a good show, I didn’t have faith they would

Maf Posted July 2, 2024 Posted July 2, 2024 I already own Savage Planet on Xbox and Neon White and Tchia are cool games I would like to try. Pretty weak opening to July, though. Hopefully the second half is better
Maryokutai Posted July 2, 2024 Posted July 2, 2024 No, that's Gylt (has since been ported everywhere btw.). Tchia is some kind of feelgood exploration thing where your can turn into animals. 1
Nag Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 Drastic changes (and price increases) happening to various tiers of Game Pass... https://www.eurogamer.net/microsoft-confirms-big-changes-for-xbox-game-pass-ditching-day-one-releases-for-basic-tier Can't see this going over well at all.
DANGERMAN Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 Yeah, was just coming to post this. It's a big jump in price. The removal of the 1st party Day 1 stuff too 😬 Quote As reported by Windows Central, which says Microsoft has now confirmed the details, the first big Game Pass change comes with the imminent closure of the $10.99/month Xbox Game Pass for Console. While this will continue to be available to existing members until their subscription expires (notably, from 12th September, Microsoft will only allow users to stack Game Pass for Console for up to 13 months), new users looking for a basic tier package will need to subscribe to Xbox Game Pass Standard, which launches in September. This costs $14.99/month and includes Xbox Live Gold for multiplayer gaming, plus access to Xbox's back catalogue - but not, crucially, access to first-party releases on day one. That means console players wanting to play Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 via Game Pass when it launches on 25th October will need to subscribe to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Ultimate, which will also remain the only Game Pass subscription tier offering access to Xbox Cloud Gaming, is getting a price increase too, with its monthly cost rising from $16.99 to $19.99. Things are a little bit different on PC insofar as PC Game Pass will continue to get day one games, but its price is also increasing - this time from $9.99/month to $11.99/month. This, to me, is them giving up. Consumers are never happy about having things taken off them, but to do it with a 50% price increase is just asking for trouble
