Maf
The Mario and Luigi series started to use a template for each of their games that I thought was a cool idea Spoiler I enjoy the novelty
bellow
That strange thing they do on FF games, and that GTA collage they always do. Both are iconic, for me.
mfnick
Yea games which keep a theme throughout their instalments are always cool. I never noticed the link between the Mario & Luigi ones before @Maf. That’s cool. God I’m thick, how did I never see that?
Nag
I pay less attention to box art now as I'm mostly purchasing digital copies nowadays... something I thought I'd never say. A few that spring to mind though...
DANGERMAN
in terms of memorable, the guy that did the western Street Fighter 2 box art died last week, that's pretty memorable, definite nostalgia when I saw it Spoiler if we're going favourites, I've always loved the Wasteland boxart, even though I've never actually played the game
mfnick
That Wasteland one is great. Just thought of 2 recent ones I love. Bit cheating though as they’re the reversible ones. Trust companies to make the reverse side a lot better. Spoiler
spatular
japanese jet set radio is great but struggling to think of anything else Spoiler oh gravity rush too, when i looked it up the japanese one is better than ours, couldn't find a link though so this is the chinese one or something (japanese one is gravity daze) Spoiler
HandsomeDead
The two most iconic ones from the main boys Spoiler But as cool you occasionally get character portraits as cover art I do love an action shot but maybe because you don't get them much anymore. A favourite is this one Spoiler I looked through my small physical collection that I currently have and only this one met a similar criteria Spoiler More of this please. I guess it's kinda sad that we don't have as much of this to have in our homes but stuff like this does get made for digital games as promotional material, it's just harder to get your hands on. HandsomeDead
The God Hand boxart is whatever but they did have some marketing material that was used for magazines and it looks like it was intended to be the boxart but they didn't go with it, which is a shame Spoiler
radiofloyd
A few that stand out.
Nag
Quote Readers discuss the most iconic video game sound effects and jingles, from Sonic the Hedgehog’s rings to the Metal Gear Solid ping. The subject for this week’s Hot Topic was suggested by reader D Dubya, and includes regular sound effects, short jingles, and even the noise of the consoles themselves. Readers were also encouraged to share a clip on YouTube, to help remind everyone of the sounds in question. As many predicted, various Nintendo games got a lot of mentions, as did retro games in general. There were some newer titles as well though, and console noises such as rare achievements. Haven't played a Sonic game in years and this still sticks with me... Iconic... It's all the ones already mentioned...😂
