ok, worked out how to do it so Mark's account has gone

 

Unfortunately Snaggletooth had also asked for his account to be deleted the day after Mark (the notifications weren't coming through to us, it's on the backend). Shame, I don't know why they wanted to go, but Snaggletooth is absolutely welcome back if they ever change their mind... although I don't think we can recover the account unfortunately

 

 

oh, while I'm posting forum stuff. @Nag remember when we got hacked and all your stuff got deleted. If I ever see any of those posts hidden I unhide them. However, in doing this I've found a bunch of threads of yours that were hidden and have made them visible again

The problem was always finding them. Ideally we'd have been able to click on your account and sort by hidden or whatever, but we can't. I can do it through the Games folder (or news etc) itself now since the last update

It's fine to step away for a bit. Being honest, there's times when some of you I would have strangled if I'd been in the same room as you. I just walked for a bit and let that shit simmer off.

 

Aside from @regemond, I'd strangle that prick at the drop of a hat. He's an absolute worstcunt.

If you close and ban the politics thread you'll just have lots of mini politics threads everywhere else in the forum. Anyway as someone who made a fairly thoughtless reply to the thing that seemed to kick it off and regrets that, I can understand why he'd feel pissed off and want to just fuck everyone off. I think when people read comments from someone warning about a dark, hard right turn that seems to be happening around them it's very easy to just think Chicken Little at it but these are the kinds of passive attitudes that let evil take the opportunity to take hold, because it "can't be as bad as they all say".

There's a forum I frequent (I wouldn't say use, I don't post there but I read the threads) and the mods enforce the no politics stance vigorously. It's mainly Americans though so that's probably why they need to do it. 😂

At the rate people are leaving this is 2/3 of the forum.

 

Also yeah. If you don't have the thread it will just spill over, even if you "ban politics" it's going to happen at some point because it's just something people will want to rant about occasionally.

 

Also, when I created that thread I thought it would go off the deep end pretty quickly, but mostly it's been levelheaded and I can see where people are coming from even if I don't agree with them, it shows we have a greater maturity here that most places because it just goes to fucking shit because people are terrible about it.

 

I think as well, people need to talk about it in a manner where they are not being cunts about it, I know it can seem like people are being abrasive when they are talking about shit you don't agree with, but mostly I don't think they are. We have more in common than we have dividing us. Apart from @regemond obviously, it's hard to resonate with such an awful person.

If that American forum happens to be neogaf (I don't know if it is or not), I think the reason they removed the politics section is that they had a lot of very happy January 6th cheerleaders on there and the admin got a bit worried it might get him in trouble

yeah the last time I was on Gaf (a fair few years ago), it had gone very right wing

 

I don't mind the politics thread on here, I think broadly we all have similar ish views, there's no one I think is massively right leaning. Granted some of us are further left than others, but its not polar opposites. Plus I think people are fairly civil. There's a football forum I go on where you'd be called a cunt for disagreeing over the shade of blue for the sky, we're nothing like that

The Discord is now for the forum. Previously we were all on Mark's, I forget what prompted it, but we thought it was best the forum had control of stuff to do with the forum (I think at one point one of the social media things was someone else, I can't remember)
