Maf Posted June 11, 2024 Posted June 11, 2024 Looks excellent, Mary. I usually don’t like 2D racers because I find turning difficult to judge, but I think this works because the tracks are 3D and only the cars are flat. Looks like an amazing Switch game.
Sly Reflex Posted June 11, 2024 Posted June 11, 2024 Just me that thinks it's hilarious one of the characters is called Minji then? 1
Maf Posted June 12, 2024 Posted June 12, 2024 https://www.eurogamer.net/epic-games-store-database-appears-to-list-dozens-of-upcoming-pc-games-including-turok Epic Store accidentally released a list of possible new games coming ONE OF THEM IS CALLED TUROK PROJECT Plsplsplspls
Nag Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 Another one bites the dust... https://www.eurogamer.net/alone-in-the-dark-reboot-developer-closed-by-embracer And this one could be seen coming a mile away.
Nag Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 This could have promise... I like this universe a lot and I'm looking forward to the prequel film this year.
Maryokutai Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 The whole premise of Quiet Place actually seems more suited to a videogame than a movie I think. You don't have to force tension by having people do dumb or risky stuff, it's just tense by default. Also that's a shame with the AitD developer. I'v actually heard from quite a few people that they liked the game, despite some very obvious shortcomings. I think I'm going to try it at some point, the last one on 360 was also a super interesting but incredibly flawed game.

Ridiculous isn't it. Alone in the Dark was never going to be a huge hit, so it being as well received as it was showed that the studio had done their job Tbh, I'm at the point where I think that if a studio puts out a game then is shut down by their publisher, then the game is morally free. The publisher have already written off the game, the devs don't see anything from it, so you're under no obligation to pay for it 1
Nag Posted June 18, 2024 Posted June 18, 2024 https://www.eurogamer.net/lords-of-the-fallen-sequel-set-for-2026 Just cos @Maf is enjoying the first... 1
Maf Posted June 19, 2024 Posted June 19, 2024 There’s a Limited Run showcase today. Apparently announcing Beyond Good & Evil Remaster https://www.eurogamer.net/beyond-good-and-evil-remaster-news-teased-for-showcase-tomorrow I think more importantly are they going to announce a date for the Hi-Fi Rush physical version. Like @Maryokutai said in another topic this could have issues down the line because of music licensing. Making it one of the few Xbox games I want on a disc
Maryokutai Posted June 20, 2024 Posted June 20, 2024 Probably not worth its own topic, new platformer inspired by DK and Crash Bandicoot. The characters unfortunately look like Kellogg's rejects and the name is impossible to remember, but everything else looks promising. Edit: people in the comments point out that the music is awful. I've watched the trailer on mute, but supposedly the proper game OST is by David Wise, so no need to worry there. 1

one-armed dwarf Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 The original Resident Evil trilogy is coming out on GOG, RE1 released today Finally someone at capcom realised that the remakes aren't replacements for the old games It sounds like they will be staying on GOG, as some of the effort in converting these old games was done by them https://www.gog.com/en/game/resident_evil_bundle 1
Nag Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 It blows my mind that these never came out on consoles older than what? GameCube? Especially digitally... easy money there you'd think... 1

Still prefer OG RE2 to the remake and RE3 was missing content. Even though the 1st remake is basically better in every single way it’s still great to have access to the classic version.
one-armed dwarf Posted June 27, 2024 Posted June 27, 2024 Steam have added a new recording feature to its beta branch. Works in a not dissimilar fashion to console recording features where you can look at a cached clip for up to 2 hours and drag a seeker around to export another clip. It seems to not support HDR though, which is something that OBS already does, and I don't see a way to record above 1080 so the quality isn't amazing. But the console like elegance of it is a nice improvement over how annoying tools like OBS can be. The easy way to edit the timeline would be a big saver of disk space. So when these missing features come out it could be a great replacement just for grabbing clips of gameplay, cause OBS feels overkill for just doing that Also would be great to have another reason to never use nvidia shadowplay again, which is the most buggy non functional shit. Nvidia software fucking sucks https://twitter.com/Wario64/status/1806024389323800810
Sly Reflex Posted June 28, 2024 Posted June 28, 2024 Some of the stuff in the steam beta is pretty exciting. I'm looking forward to the family share thing they have going on there. Current family share is a mess, the way they're looking at doing it seems way more streamlined.
shinymcshine Posted July 4, 2024 Posted July 4, 2024 And in Zelda (miniature) Sword Crime news..... https://amp.theguardian.com/uk-news/article/2024/jul/03/man-jailed-for-carrying-replica-sword-from-legend-of-zelda-video-game-in-public So that sounds weird, and a bit harsh, so scratch beneath the surface, and according to a report on Forbes.... Spoiler "What’s missing from every report about this I could find, and what is so crucial to understanding this story, however is that Anthony Bray is a repeat offender with a long rap sheet and numerous prison sentences, several of which were for burglary including serial burglary. In 2011, Bray was convicted and sentenced to four years in prison after getting “three strikes” for burgling residences. But his run-ins with the law go back to 1989 and he was in court numerous times throughout the 90s as well." Which makes a bit more sense ! https://www.forbes.com/sites/erikkain/2024/07/03/zelda-master-sword-gets-man-4-months-prison-time-but-theres-more-to-the-story/
HandsomeDead Posted July 4, 2024 Posted July 4, 2024 I mean there's that but you never know if he'll play 'The Ballad of Growth' on a weird instrument and it turns into a regular sized Master Sword. You can never be too sure. 1
one-armed dwarf Posted July 8, 2024 Posted July 8, 2024 We talked about this before, I can't remember what the last update was but it sounds more sure than ever that Piranha Bytes is shut down (google translate from polish) https://cdaction.pl/newsy/piranha-bytes-zamkniete-to-koniec-tworcow-gothica
