Craymen Edge
https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2020/12/11/we-are-ofk-is-an-episodic-game-series-about-a-virtual-band/ I thought this was pretty interesting. One of the musical interludes in The Game Adverts 2020 was a virtual band: OFK, subject of a 5 part episodic story game coming to Steam in the spring.
radiofloyd
Probably the most striking thing in the indie direct. Coming to PC and Switch in April. https://www.gematsu.com/2020/12/hoa-launches-in-april-2021
radiofloyd
Pixel-art games are ten a penny but this looks promising. https://www.gematsu.com/2020/12/olija-launches-january-28-2021
radiofloyd
This might be shit but, i like this trailer and I just noticed that the first trailer for this game came out six years ago! It’s out on Christmas Day.
Craymen Edge
https://twitter.com/bethesda/status/1349023307228704770 The preview didn't work for some reason, but Bethesda teased an original Indiana Jones game, from Machine Games.
AndyKurosaki
Well, they did a great job with Wolfenstein. Just don’t let the prats that made Wolfenstein Youngblood anywhere near it, as that was bloody awful.
DisturbedSwan
MachineGames are one of Bethesda's best studios so it's great they're on the job. Seems like the 007 announcement, this is very far away though.
Maryokutai
This feels totally random. Is the Indiana Jones IP even worth something anymore? Do people under 30 know about that franchise? On the other hand it's good to know it's coming. I hope they don't bruteforce some multiplayer or GAAS elements into this and just make a classic action adventure style game. It doesn't look like SE wants to go anywhere with Tomb Raider at the moment so this might be the only alternative.

Maryokutai
Wait, doesn't EA have the exclusive rights anymore? Are SW games free-for-all again? That would be really cool.

It is really hard to say. But personally, I thought Uncharted filled that niche already? Plus the prior PC and Lego Indy titles.
Jimboxy
I could go a decent Indy game. Plenty of exploring and puzzle solving with a bit of Nazi killing, but nothing as gun ho as uncharted or Tomb Raider.
Maryokutai
Star Wars being free is a good thing. I'm not saying everything EA did with it was bad but it would have been cool if other developers would have had a go at it in the meantime as well. As for Uncharted, I don't think that's coming back unless they put another developer onto it. But seeing how character driven it was as opposed to being gameplay focused I doubt Sony will risk that. Maryokutai
So it won't be set on Hoth, but on Geonosis instead?
one-armed dwarf
Oh for fuck sake https://www.resetera.com/threads/thps-1-2-and-n-sane-trilogy-developer-vicarious-visions-merged-into-blizzard-shifts-to-support-existing-blizzard-games-and-initiatives.366164/ Vicarious Visions are merged into Blizzard, Tony Hawks and Crash Remake devs. Tony Hawk was my number 1 game this year until Half Life Alyx. It was just too good, the best remake of 2020 some may say.
DisturbedSwan
Well on the plus side it seems they’ll all be keeping their jobs, but yeah it’s shitty they won’t get to head anymore projects. I guess this means any Crash/Spyro stuff going forward will be handled by Toys for Bob.
DANGERMAN
that's shit. They've just made the first good Tony Hawks game in 2 generations, it must have sold pretty well, what waste
Maryokutai
Guess that's one way to compensate for those massive layoffs at Blizzard a year or two ago. It's a shame though, as this is basically a studio closure. They've been around for quite some time, I remember playing some of their licensed games during my childhood.
