Days Gone

I'll probably be proven wrong but I think I'm about ready to wrap up the story on this...

Story stuff happened and I'm back in the North of the map, horde locations are now marked on my map (something I thought happened post game) and Deacon has a master plan...

If been forced to fight a couple of pretty bloody big hordes with story progression...

Hordes ain't got shit on me!

To be honest as long as there's some bushes dotted close by and you have a full stock of Attracters and Grenades they're easy to cheese.... I like to get them to about a quarter and then go mental with an automatic weapon though.?

Also, it's not really been mentioned but there's some really nice scenery in this game.PS Communities_20190522_014145.jpg

Guess I haven't got too far to go then? @DANGERMAN

there's 2 horde bits(by the sounds of it you've done one at least), a few kind of side missions you can do, then the end game which kind of takes ages.

It seems like this all takes you less time than it does me so you might not have much less. Took me hours and hours though

Yup, finished it earlier... Really enjoyed the whole thing to be honest and to think I almost passed up on it completely.

It was one of those rare games that didn't really piss me off at any time, everything it does it does very well (in my opinion) the only think that irked me somewhat is in one of the late cutscenes Deacon swims across a lake whereas in game if he strays three feet in to deep water he drowns...

Anyway, this seems like a very doable Platinum so I'll be tidying up and going for that too.

I have to admit @DANGERMAN that I'm pretty amazed you saw it through too... before you started playing I wouldn't of put it down as your type of thing.

I think the sense of progression is really good in this, early game fire fights are totally lopsided against you (in fact I hated the shooting to begin with) with the starting gun struggling to hit a bus at ten paces... Come end game I can quite easily take out those early game hordes with an automatic rifle no problems.

I dunno, this just clicked with me... It was a nice, steady game to spend time with.

Been playing this again after finishing Rage 2. Found a horde with a couple hundred in today and took them out. Really fun, then wandered round and got kidnapped and had my stuff stolen in one of those blue question mark areas, killed them, got my stuff back, drove off, bumped into a rock, went flying off my bike and instantly died. Last save was before the horde. This displeased me.

I listened to the podcast last night @DANGERMAN.... I feel you were overly harsh on the game.?

Did you honestly not feel yourself getting stronger and more able to deal with things by end game?

Obviously I'm not knocking how you felt.

One on one yeah, but getting from A to B felt like more of a hassle. More freakers, the birds, faster freakers, more traps around petrol stations etc

Edit: seems to be a divisive game. I know all games are to a point. I read Edge's review, they gave it a 5, and they had a lot of the same problems I did with it

See by that point I could virtually run through those early area hordes with just guns... No planning, no hiding just mow them down with firepower, it was empowering.

Same with camps in the end, I just went full on Rambo.

Like you say the game was divisive.
