one-armed dwarf Posted August 13, 2019 Posted August 13, 2019 My dude what percentage of your posts are about looking at things online and not buying them? I'm sure they dwarf my posts about dmc at this stage (no pun intended) 2
one-armed dwarf Posted August 13, 2019 Posted August 13, 2019 Well anyway Check out this swag dude. Or dont, but rest assured it is very cool indeed And people say Nero dont got the moves.
Maf Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 It’s not up yet but yay me being tight actually paid off
one-armed dwarf Posted September 18, 2019 Posted September 18, 2019 Not that I've ever been one to brag ?, but I finally no damaged the Cavalier Angelo fight on DMD and I feel well chuffed ? 1
one-armed dwarf Posted October 4, 2019 Posted October 4, 2019 Damn, this is actually the best video I've seen someone make of this game. No question about it Spoiler
Maf Posted October 4, 2019 Posted October 4, 2019 Oh, you liked my video? That’s cool. It took a few goes, and I think I could do better but I thought it was worth putting up for people to see 2
HandsomeDead Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 I had an all nighter on this last night so I think I can chip in now. I'm at mission 12 so I've played all the characters. Nero and Dante are obviously familiar so it's just V that is a new thing to learn. I think I enjoy using him but there are a few things I wish worked a little differently. Most of all I wish there was a way to dodge without interrupting your minions, like maybe tap dodge to move V and hold to bring back minions too. I get sad when some chump wanders in from the side while your cat is wailing on things across the room and even dodging the attack interrupts them. But I'm hard pressed to think how you do a summoner character better in an action game. It's an interesting thing to mess with. And he is a good twink, I do have to declare that. I still haven't learnt the different properties of the Nero's Devil Breaker, though. Its probably why my Nero combo ranks kinda suck compared to V and Dante. They all seem to just be area attacks at a glance. I may have to mess in the Void to see what they all actually do. But its nice to have a solid, fun DMC again. Not that DmC isn't, I'm more thinking of DMC4. I do have it on PS4 and played it quite recently but there is some stuff that just isn't fun and I fell off it. But I'd still like to go back and tie it up after playing this. I'm in the flow.
one-armed dwarf Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 I used to think I liked playing as V but actually putting in time to the character trying to get really good I think he was a bit of a failed experiment. The key problem being an element of randomness to the behaviours of the pets. They sort of roam around and it's hard to really synergise any of them into anything cool, you have to pray for some RNG to put the style in front of you. Whereas with Dante and Nero you can really learn to soar... and have very sore hands doing so. For dodging tho there's some fancy stuff you can do with V if you get used to teleporting to Nightmare. Nightmare does its own thing tho so that has mixed results
HandsomeDead Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 Yeah, being at the will of AI a bit sucks. Another thing I wish is the cat minion teleporting to locked on enemies was more reliable. There's been a few times I wished the cat would teleport, and it seems like it would, but it flails in place. I guess it's an iteration away from being satisfyingly consistent but maybe it'll never be as constant as direct control.
HandsomeDead Posted June 15, 2020 Posted June 15, 2020 So I finished my first Devil Hunter play through last night. I started to struggle a bit towards the end trying to get used to Dante's weapons. I should have just stuck with what I knew. But I guess I'll try a Son of Sparda run but I always hit a wall in these games about half way through and end up slipping off. Same with the Bayonetta equivalent. I do want to finish one of these games on that difficulty. I want the cred and bigger dick you're rewarded with.
one-armed dwarf Posted June 15, 2020 Posted June 15, 2020 2 minutes ago, HandsomeDead said: I should have just stuck with what I knew. Yeah, I just use two guns and never ever use that bike weapon. Still don't know how to use it. It looks cool and I've seen interesting application of it (the DLC version has a midair stinger) but it's like they threw in a BloodBorne weapon or something and the moveset never clicked for me. My nunchuks and punchy kick weapons is what I know best. Having fewer weapons makes it easier to spin all those plates with Dante also. Also Could be neat especially if it includes stuff like the community turbo mod and LDK mode (basically dead rising in DMC). As much as I like dmc5 it's somewhere in the middle of the pack for me combat wise due to its lower gravity and heavier animations. The turbo mods on PC literally fix all that shit, but setting it up is so tedious (you have to manually modify a bunch of checkboxes on bootup) so I never bother with it.
one-armed dwarf Posted June 30, 2020 Posted June 30, 2020 This guy is my favourite dmc5 player, just insanely creative (same guy as in the october post above) His (?) gameplay looks like the cutscenes. Didn't know you could do quick turns with the punchline by kickflipping
one-armed dwarf Posted August 23, 2020 Posted August 23, 2020 DMC5 has PVP now on PC As well as a slew of other changes in the mod which adjust physics and shit for galaxy brain players. I think at this point if Capcom make a special edition it could only disappoint next to these amateur mods
one-armed dwarf Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 The DMC5:SE trailer Blog https://blog.playstation.com/2020/09/16/devil-may-cry-5-special-edition-slices-its-way-onto-playstation-5/ Quote Firstly, we added Turbo Mode – the ability to crank up DMC5SE’s gameplay to play at 1.2x the normal speed. This mode has been a fan favorite addition to DMC ever since DMC3SE – it takes DMC’s already fast paced, stylish action and kicks it up a notch. Fun fact – although partly inspired by Street Fighter 2 Turbo – Itsuno-san and his dev team first got the idea to implement Turbo Mode when they programmed DMC3 to play at the same speed on lower refresh rated PAL tvs (which update at 50hz) compared to their NTSC cousins (which update at 60hz). In development, we’ve actually tried to kick it up to 1.3x speed before as well! But we found that 1.2x provided a perfect sweet spot of speed vs. controllability. Secondly – Legendary Dark Knight difficulty. This is a difficulty where each encounter provides multiple times the enemies compared to the other difficulties, which makes for all kinds of chaos on screen, and goes perfectly with all of the stylish, big moves that Nero, Dante and V perform as they’re obliterating demons. This can only be done at this graphical quality, thanks to the upgrades in horsepower and memory that PS5 features. And last, but certainly not least – Vergil. As soon as DMC5 was announced back in 2018, the most consistent request that we got from players was for playable Vergil. When my boss, Jun Takeuchi, came to me late last year and said “let’s do this,” I knew that the first thing we would have to do is make sure that we make Vergil playable. In DMC4, Vergil got an upgrade with the Concentration Gauge, which reflected his calm and deadly nature. For DMC5SE, we’ve added even more interesting twists to his gameplay in addition to the return of said Concentration Gauge. And if you own DMC5 on PS4 stay tuned, the Playable Character: Vergil Paid DLC will be available at a later date. You can get a taste of what’s to come in the trailer below! I have been playing with turbo mode 1.2/1.3 on PC with mods, it's hard to overstate how much better the game feels. Removes the slight feeling of heft the vanilla version of 5 has for some reason. Vergil, neat. Much more into the gameplay enhancements tho. Legendary Dark Knight, very fucking neat. If you don't know that's DMC with Dead Rising numbers of enemies. Lots of fun in DMC4 Also looks like they 'fixed' V. Trying to sell ray tracing in DMC, fucking lol. Nobody looking at those fucking puddles dudes edit wow they did a whole video on ray tracing For a game which historically offers very limited camera control to really observe all the dynamic lighting and reflections. Kinda feels like they're just testing the tech here for Resident Evil tbh edit sounds like this is NOT coming to PC actually, well that's a massive disappointment. They are just releasing Vergil as DLC and that's it. I guess modders can do the Legendary Dark Knight or something. Vergil is honestly the least interesting part of this package to me edit confirmed that the PC release isn't getting this stuff, except for Vergil https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2020-09-17-capcom-says-devil-may-cry-5-special-edition-wont-come-to-pc What's crazy is the PS5 version has to drop to 30 frames for ray tracing and can't do it on LDK mode. You would need a PC to turn on RT and preserve 60 frames. Such BS business decisions.
