Oh man, I remember MK8 being the first stadia game I ever played, it was at gamescom on a mobile phone (so they did have a phone app then I guess, that I only remembered now). Then after that doom eternal, could not pick a worse pair of games to sell people on what they were trying to do. 

 

There is a niche out there for a gamepass like service to stream certain indie and rpg story heavy games on. MS will gobble it up when they get xcloud hitting critical mass probably. 

 

edit additionally it occurs to me that game visuals are becoming much more vibrant in terms of how much dark scenes there are, and how many particle effects are on screen that I can't see how stadia could have supported something like forspoken and had it look good. All their stream image quality had a very soft and washed out look to it so they clearly weren't there yet.

I was talking to a friend earlier who said playing Resident Evil on it made him feel sick. Which makes sense, in first person lag is going to have more of an impact on the immersion and connection between the player and the game
