Maf
But Xenonlade is like MMO lite, no? Unless you mean the partner animals are on cool downs? I don’t know, this game could totally convince me I’m just not convinced right now
bellow
I think it's going to be like most platinum games, a short term blast, but not something that's going to change your life. There is one caveat to that. I did hear the dev describe the way the game works as a middle road between Bayonetta and Nier Automata. Now, that's something that fits me in a way those 2 games (though both great for what they are) didn't. That, and the good early reviews, were enough to warrant a pre order for me. one-armed dwarf
I don't know, I think Bayo was genuinely revolutionary. But since then they've been a bit low rent imo when it comes to action. It's just they're the only game in town these days. Capcom take too long to make a DMC so P games is where you go now.
bellow
Revolutionary is a stretch. Apart from witch time you could pretty much control bayo like DMC 3 Dante. I think I did, too.

bellow
Don't make me find that Dante combo video again?
one-armed dwarf
I'm all about those Dante combo videos. But Bayo made dodging something that could happen in a combo, rather than something which interrupts it. It turned standard fights into intense sparring matches with it. It's a cool thing. High level Dante is, like almost fighting game precise. But requires you to know how to break things a bit with all the cancelling. Anyway Astral Chain

HandsomeDead
Word on the street is this game owns. Fuck, I was hoping it would be B-tier Platinum and I'd pick it up cheap later but I really want it now. OCH
I was looking the other day and a little disappointed there was no demo. Without trying it first-hand, all my cash for the next month or so is squarely aimed at next year's Japan holiday.
