DisturbedSwan
Wish it told you when the bidding ends, lost out on Mario Maker 2 as I had no idea anyone else bid on it after me and hasn’t no time for a rebuttal ?
HandsomeDead
It does. Monday night. I bidded on Link's Awakening too, but not much, mind. I bid over $50 on Mario Maker so you'd have to dig deep @Blakey
DisturbedSwan
I knew it was Monday night sometime but it would’ve been nice to have a ‘someone has outbid you!’ Notification to your email etc. I’ve got no recourse if I get outbid at the moment. I would’ve dug deep for that.
HandsomeDead
Nah, the bids are secret. You gotta decide how much much you're willing to gamble up front. And like I said @Blakey, I bid over $50 on Mario Maker and you only have $50 left so you were never getting it regardless so
DisturbedSwan
Ah ok that makes more sense then. Haha true ?
Hendo
Can’t believe I got out bid on Mario Maker! I put that bid in as soon as they announced it!
HandsomeDead
@AndyKurosaki and @Whiskey_chaser might want to start filling their tables up, especially since you're both behind with your choices that have been reviewed. Though Crackdown 3 getting reviewed as it did was unjust. Mainstream game criticism has some really bad takes at times.
Whiskey_chaser
I was completely oblivious to this bidding thing until now. I'll have a look.

IKR2. The Easy Allies review is especially out of touch.

Completely agree @DifferentClass gaming journos have some hot takes sometimes. I’ve yet to play CD3 yet though, it looks awful from what I’ve seen. Maybe now everyone will believe me when I say MGSU is a great game and the reviews were unjust? (Not likely ?) If only it was a Microsoft published title available on Game Pass... DANGERMAN
I can see why Crackdown has reviewed poorly. What's there might be fun, but repeating it and it not getting developed are the sorts of things that are going to stop a critic giving it a good score. It's the prime example of something where the critic scores and the user scores are poles apart Which, fwiw Blakey is the difference between Crackdown and Metal Gear, that for some reason you've been drumming a comparison to. I've not played either, I didn't really play much of the original Crackdown, but the new one looks like it might be fun, at least for a while or on Gamepass, Metal Gear Survive looked awful. Maybe it needs time investment to get you hooked, but from the outside it looks terrible and dull whereas Crackdown looks like it'd be decent for a few hours
HandsomeDead
Strong looking open world smashy game with a load of fun looking toys isn't the same as poor example of a survival game, a genre that is rarely good.
AndyKurosaki
I’ll have a look at bidding tomorrow. This doesn’t work properly on iPhone,so I have to boot up my laptop to do it.

HandsomeDead
I didn't know Dreams was gonna be an early access game when I drafted it. Looking at the rules it's reviews when it first launches count. I hope it's not a bit lacking when it drops.
HandsomeDead
And Dirt Rally 2.0 was a really good call. It got an Essential from Eurogamer. It may have been a better idea to pick more specialist games than the big hitters as they may review more reliably.
DisturbedSwan
I had no idea Dreams was early access either, but I guess it doesn’t make sense as it has been available to selected creators in Closed Beta since December. Outlets usually wait until the full release before reviewing early access games but if they do review Dreams you won’t have much to worry about, it looks so incredibly lavish and polished already.
