Obviously this is a very generous look at this game, but man I wish I had played it.

It looks cool and I like the Oldboy bit with the hallway, but it sort of feels too much like a simplified Arkham-style game watching it and positioning/spacing doesn't seem to matter much at all with how countering works. Based on that video anyway 

 

I'd like a slower paced version of a game like this were the latter got a lot more focus, it would have to be slower paced to account for that anyway

 

Actually, what I actually want is a Wuxia roguelike action game, where you're flying around the place all Crouching Tiger style.

I have it on PS5. It’s just one of those things where there’s more games than time. Next year I’m going to focus on saving money again and playing mostly old games instead of new ones. So maybe then

The screen tearing in this is rough but I guess you get used to it after a bit. 

 

Not to keep litigating the point, but this is a really permissive game. I got the feeling while playing it you can easily ignore lots of things (and basically just tried to rush the last level and ignore most enemies) and that comes across even more strongly here. The gameplay isn't even that clean and he still gets through it quickly

I don't like that weird melee cancelling thing they do with the sniper rifle, but even at that I love the movement in Eternal. It feels like the Slayer is himself a heat seeking ballistic missile, much more fun than being an abrams tank. 

 

That weird claw controller keyboard thing the dude uses is something else

Some of it is easy to do, too. When I played it I used the dive kick bounce to skip a few platforms and stuff

I'm interested in the fact that they are playing on keyboard. I played Hollow Knight on dualsense and I found that the squishy membrane of the dpad would sometimes, maybe this is cope, but sometimes it could fuck my pogo sticks up. 

 

edit what am I talking about, the hitbox is right there, surely the only correct way to play this game

There's a UFO50 Speedrun tomorrow, I think. That would be really interesting to watch and probably one of the most suitable candidates for this type of thing.

GDQ is supposed to be for charity, but they must have messed up somewhere cause apparently this year they were sponsored by SNK, who are in the business of laundering the reputation of MBS these days.

 

They've cancelled that partnership now though

 

You'd think tho that would be something organizers would be on top of, it just makes the whole event so ethically compromised

apparently it was a special stream and they cancelled it while it was live. It is mad, given every other donation on SGDQ has Trans rights at the end
