3 over 4? Interesting. Which version of 3?

I was quite disappointed by the ending of 4 that soured me, where as 3 just continued to ramp up.

FES is what I actually finished so let's say that one.

Oooh! I can answer this one!

Paper Mario : The Thousand Year Door

The Witcher III

Bloodborne (if that counts)

Mario & Luigi : Superstar Saga

Mass Effect (1 or 2, not sure which)

Ah fair one. Which version for 4 was it?

I haven’t finished 3 yet, I burned myself out last year. I played and finished 4 Golden with the best ending which was over 100 hours, then the afternoon I finished that 5 arrived so I played that for a couple weeks until I went to Japan, played 3 Portable while I was in Japan and got to the point where you’re waiting for the big bad to arrive on New Year’s Eve, came home from Japan and carried on with 5, finished 5 and just couldn’t bring myself to jump back onto 3 to finish it. I’m so close too.

Ah ok, Golden is far better and the new character/ending is fantastic.

If you get the chance and can bring yourself to play it again I highly recommend Golden, it’s one of my favourite games.

I love XII, but I'm a huge Star Wars fan and it's basically A New Hope with Chocobo's so I'm all in.

In that case I think Rogue Galaxy would be more up your street than any FF.

I voted for SMTIII over Persona cause you've got more freedom over party building and I also loved how the world is just this big post-apocalyptic inverted spherical Tokyo.

Big hopes for SMTV

@OCH Yeah? I’ve heard great things but never played it.

I’ll pick it up next time I see it on sale on PS4 and give it a go.

4 is great, it takes a massive lull in the middle though, but it does get good again after that. Lucifer's Call was too difficult for me back in the day, but it was more or less the first game like that I'd played, I might do better with it now

Lucifer’s Call was my first SMT game and it kicked the shit out of me. I’ve never actually finished it despite starting it several times.

It’s on my list for a retro review for the channel in the new year.

I'd love that on the Switch. Then again, I've got to play 5 FF games next year, so they could wait a bit.

I was disappointed with IV, couldn't really click with it. It felt a little bit of a downgrade from III, visually anyway with the environments.

III just has a look that I can't describe that I've not really seen in any other game. Very low budget and lo-fi but effective.

i haven't played that many jrpg's.

deus ex

persona 4

witcher 2

1000 year door

persona 5

although seen Hendo's list with 1000 year door made me think i should have included that instead of something.

edited to get rid of Zelda as apparently it’s not allowed!
