So this my 2024 in gaming

Had to work backwards with Steam. It says my playtime on Elden Ring is 82.4 hours which was 47% of game time so divide by 47 times 100, I guess

I guess this is before me being finished with BO6 on Xbox as well

I've got easy access to Series S, 360, PS4 and Switch - but the question is - if I wanted some old school local co-op Gauntlet action (just sticking with 1-4, top down 'arcade' style) can I actually download / play it ?

I know it didn't appear on many of the Atari compilations (I've got Atari 50, NS, and it's not on there) and couldn't see it on a quick scan of eshops.

I’ve played too many games over the past few days and I’m lost. Every time I pick up the controller dodge is on a different button.

But the things I’m fighting DO NOT RESPECT THIS I’m like the button has a circle on it. Most dodges are people rolling and if I had to draw a person rolling the shape it most closely look like is a circle so why is it on X.

I also haven’t been playing small games, I’ve been playing big games and beat the opening to all of them so no matter where I turn I’m faced with huge worlds, infinite tasks and heavy, serious stories about very unserious stuff.

I’m going to retreat to the Switch the Switch doesn’t treat me like this. Switch goes hey look the game is a straight line but trusts me, the line is world class we used rulers and levels and all sorts

The game I have spent the least amount time playing is Silent Hill 2 Remake and NO. I keep waiting all day saying I should play this at night and then it gets to night and I’m like NO I mean tomorrow night.

I’ve also ruined my sleep schedule because I’m gaming until 2am, going to sleep at 3am, waking up at 9am, trying to go back to sleep until 10am giving up and gaming again at 11am I am very tired and they keep changing the dodge button PLEASE

In 2 days time I know I’m opening so many games it’s going to get so much better/worse/tired

I have less than 7 days to fit in about 4000 hours worth of games I feel like if I activate speed run mode and stop stopping for food and toilet I can probably do it

I just got a brand new console that I’m putting through its paces while playing Indiana Jones, while playing Dragon Quest, while reading 1000xResist

I’ve been having fun. I will get to Rivals probably after Christmas Day

EDIT: As a complete aside I was watching someone play X-Com 2 and he’s guy just ran up in the street and killed an alien and the streamer went “He Luigi’d him” it happened about 15mins ago and I’m still laughing

Has anyone tried out Drova: Forsaken Kin? There's been a lot of buzz in the German videogame space about it because apparently it's basically 'isometric pixel Gothic'. I never looked into it too closely because for some reason I was convinced it was a PC game, but it's actually available everywhere.

I don't find it super appealing visually, but the comparison makes me rather intrigued. I think I'm going to check that out next year.
