Maf
They already did that in Halo 4 and 5 except it was sad boyfriend
Maryokutai
Multiplatform could be one reason, but the other is probably because they're doing that weird contract work thing for MS studios while they also simultaneously keep firing people, so it's easier to find replacements when working with a more or less widely known engine compared to in-house stuff. This all sounds like good-on-paper stuff but it's hard to get excited for it in any way IMO.
Maf
I think it’s good news simply because it sounds like Xbox are investing heavily and earnestly in to making Halo work, which depending on who you ask, hasn’t really worked for a long time. I’m just glad it’s still alive, and hopefully we get some cool new games out of it I still think unless they change the fundamentals of the gameplay they’re going to be stuck in the same place, though. I get it’s a tech demo and it’s more for promotion. But seeing Elites, magnums and green hills again on UE5 is nice but makes me think, but you’re not planning on doing exactly that game again, right? I mean that’s the problem, and if it doesn’t change, no amount of ray tracing is going to solve it Hopefully they’re saying multiple games means Halo will get some variety
Maryokutai
I dunno, looking at the reception of 4 and 5 I think Halo fans just want 1-3 recycled ad infinitum. But I agree in the sense that it's at least positive they're not shelving this because they now have CoD, for example.

It's on my rather long 'to buy' list when I get my pc. (Games are mad cheap on pc aren't they)
Maf
I enjoyed Halo Infinite because I enjoy Halo but it needs to be more than that. It needs to get creative and not just oh this again but with a grappling hook The story was also terrible, I dunno what they were trying to do I always wanted a 3rd person Halo but never thought they’d do it because Gears of War exists. Why would Xbox want 2 sci-fi, humans vs aliens, 3rd person shooters? Then that footage came out this week and was like oh you can jump and drive and stuff. But they also need a whole line of new weapons as well. Halo needs to be new, and not trying to recapture what it was in 2001-2007
