I can’t get on with Blackout at all, it is fucking horrendous.

Granted I only played 5-10 solo games last night whilst jet lagged but it just seemed such a poor PUBG imitation to me.

The map is dull as dishwater and the historic locales that dot the map do little to inspire or excite.

The shooting is typically good in the usual CoD way but it isn’t enough to save it. I definitely won’t be picking up CoD again this year.

I think the price tag is a hindrance too. Sure you’re getting MP and Zombies in with it for £40 but it’s competitors are £25 and free respectively.

The last COD i bought was MW2 i think..

But I've played about 5 rounds of Blackout. It's good, especially the UI compared to the other console BR games. The perk pick up thing is a nice idea for BR games as well.

Would I pay full price for it? No. On sale? Sure. But it's a very polished, solid, military BR game on consoles which we haven't seen before. PUBG should be pretty worried.

Battlefield over to you...

Don't know if it's just going back to console shooter or what but this is shit and I am not enjoying it at all. I can never see a player and I can't hit them for shit, after only about an hour I'm dying to get back to PC pubg. Will try the pc beta and see what's what but I'm disappointed because this looked amazing.

Yeah, have to concur with @DANGERMAN it's not really a great package for me.

They're using the extended Zombies mode and Blackout to cover up for the fact that they couldn't make a decent SP/Co-Op campaign, it's inexcusable I'm afraid. If you like Blackout then fair play but it's just not enough for me personally to replace a decent SP/Co-Op campaign, it's just making you pay the same amount of money (more if you want the season pass stuff that is tied to the legendary edition or whatever its called) for less content overall.

I never bought WWII either but that was for different reasons, I love CoD MP and Zombies don't get me wrong but veggies with no meat is no fine dinner. If the Battle Royale was amazing that would negate a lot of the negativity but it is just a poor PUBG imitation to me personally.

Cancelled pre-order, had six in a row unfun games, just didn't click with it. Felt too muddy and murky and I've been out of the cod loop for a good five years or so now so the gameplay feels very alien.

Might check the PC version if they make some changes for the release but it just makes me want to play pubg and I was hoping it would have the opposite effect.

Black Ops 4 requires a 50GB day 1 patch for disc users - entire digital game is approx. 50GB

Quote

If you have the physical version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, expect to download a mammoth day one update.

Disc users have to download and install the day one update for Treyarch's first-person shooter, Activision warned. The day one update is roughly 50GB.

This day one update must be installed completely to play multiplayer, zombies and specialist headquarters. But Blackout, the battle royale mode, is playable once installation is about 30 per cent complete (16-20GB).

Activision said "for an optimised download experience", you should have 112GB of free hard-drive space. This isn't the size of the download, rather, it's the amount of space needed to complete the installation. The final installation footprint, as it's called, is around 55GB.

If you're downloading and installing digital copies of Black Ops 4, the day one version is roughly 55GB.

So there you have it. If you're buying Black Ops 4 on disc, pop it in and pop the kettle on - you've got a big download to get through before you can play.
