DANGERMAN Posted November 27, 2024 Posted November 27, 2024 I'm kind of looking forward to the Iron Lung film Markiplier is involved in
one-armed dwarf Posted January 10 Posted January 10 I don't know how I feel about UFO 50, sometimes I think it's cool othertimes I feel like it's like gorging on several selection boxes that you should have eaten over Christmas but left too long and now they've gone a bit stale
one-armed dwarf Posted January 14 Posted January 14 I don't know why someone doing an impression of Arnie doing an impression of Watto from the Phantom Menace taunting Anakin that he's going to sell his mother into slavery is the funniest shit to me but it is. Also this video is about porn addition leading to serial killing, wearing shoes filled with your own piss for health benefits and Arnie being a pest, very very NSFW (so I put it in a spoiler) (Red Letter Media - Best of the Worst) Spoiler
DANGERMAN Posted February 21 Posted February 21 I feel like this is a terrible idea, but who would have the highest gamer cred score on here?
one-armed dwarf Posted February 21 Posted February 21 Hands up who beat Doom Eternal on nightmare 666 cred score right there
Maf Posted March 8 Posted March 8 Alanah had a good video this week on Gacha games, Marvel Rivals studio closure and Chinese game development. I remember listening to her podcast with Mike Bithell a couple of years ago when he talked about China being used by western, AAA studios for outsourcing/support on game development and it was only a matter of time before the Chinese developers gained enough experience and know-how to make AAA PC/console games (as opposed to mobile games) and would be making their own With the rising costs of, well, everything it could be a good chance that a lot of the games we like to start to come from China much more frequently Although China games market still spends way more on mobile and online games so also it could mean more Chinese focused development studios on games we generally don’t care about at all. Maybe I shouldn’t;t care because I probably buy lots of Chinese products anyway without knowing. But being that it is China it gives me a bit of pause spending money on it the same way when you find out a game is funded by Saudi Arabia. Like, hmm, not acting sanctimonious or principled but HMMM…
Maf Posted March 17 Posted March 17 I know this game has problems, and it’s the weakest out of the 3 games, but I still really like The Last Guardian It actually was much better on a second playthrough because once learned how to “operate” Trico it’s a much smoother and nicer experience. As the first playthrough can be frustrating as fuck like where do you want me to stand, why won’t it move, etc. But once learned it does actually work well and is really good
Maf Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Doto is still the best streamer 🤣 (Playing Berserker Khazan) https://www.twitch.tv/dotodoya
one-armed dwarf Posted May 6 Posted May 6 This guy has a rather interesting video series on the history of Ultima, which is one of the most influential RPG series ever. I'm trying out Ultima IV atm so I'm avoiding watching too much of this but have been watching his vids on the earlier 3 (or 4) games. But in UIV's case it's a pretty interesting (tho often frustrating) game about self-improvement where the role-playing is expressed in how you embody 8 different virtues (honesty, valor, compassion, sacrifice, honor, justice, spirituality and humility) which all get integrated diegetically with stuff like giving to the poor and whether you kill evil or non-evil enemies, or let either of the two escape. If you run away yourself, you lose valour and are considered a coward, and if you lie about being brave to other npcs that counts against your honesty. It's such an original premise for a game and I'm wondering why a 1985 RPG did something like that and it hasn't really been picked up much since (outside of, presumably, the sequels it received). You have to read the manuals and lore documents to understand how the game works, and figure out its systems by typing trigger prompts to different NPCs, giving a tip to a bartender, taking notes on everything that seems important so as to connect the dots across a rather ambitious open world design (this predates the original LoZ). You talk to NPCs and meditate at shrines to find out what the different virtues actually mean, and then 'level them up' mechanically to complete the quest and become the Avatar 1
Maf Posted yesterday at 16:18 Posted yesterday at 16:18 Danny is talking about getting back in to games coverage Cool. But actually watch from the 5 minute mark and he has such a remarkable breakdown of the problem with games coverage, reviews, business and how things have flipped upside down it's worth listening too It's not even the point of the video. He just tosses out this super insightful shit for free
