I saw Ed playing this earlier, I think a few might like it.

The easy description is twin-stick shooter meets clicker. Here’s a video as it explains it much better than I can.

 

 

 

It’s out on all the usual suspects but I bought the Switch version as I was looking for something addictive to replace my Stardew addiction.

 

It’s pretty good so far though hasn’t quite got its claws into me.

Comparing my current play to that video, my guns are underpowered and I’m not constantly getting money from the planets like he is so I suspect that’s an upgrade somewhere along the way.

 

There’s a knowing-ness about the guy that pops up and gives you tool tips. One of his lines was, “to all the people that find my voice annoying, you should’ve heard the ones we discarded”. You can also turn his voice off in the menu.

Yeah, I turned his voice off in the menus, so I only get him when there's story stuff now. 

 

I have just defeated the boss on the third galaxy, and now on Vent. I'm currently raking in roughly 200 million every second, have bought a bunch of upgrades and having fun experimenting with the weapons. I need 500 trillion before I can take on the fourth boss, so am going to spend my time maximising  my earnings on previous galaxies like I have been doing along the way. I have purchased the auto transfer moolah collector on each planet. 

 

I just can't stop playing. I love it.

What gun are you favouring, Ed?

I stumbled across the laser beam (laser plus machine gun) and I can’t use anything else since.

I’ve made a love missile which seems to turn enemies over to your side, a bit pants.

Mines which drop behind you, not great.

A few others but beam is great.

 

I’m on the end of the 3rd sector now, got destroyed by the boss first time.

I'm favouring the homing missiles which I doubled up, slot powers 6 and 2. Called a mega missile volley.  I flip between that and triple mini guns at slot powers 10, 6 and 1. It's called the obliterator, and does what it says on the tin. 

 

Earning multiple billions per second now. It's amazing.

Yeah I’m on the Terminator system and making 5 billion per second. Some of the writing is pretty good, some caustic views on politics, religion and capitalism, which I wasn’t expecting.
