Destiny 2

Ha. I put up a notice in the other forum. Knew I wouldn't have to hear as I'm not the only Destiny nut ^_^

Yeah I'm going in with an open mind. A few years of tweaking their formula and unconstrained by last gen I've got high hopes. I'm not worried. Even if it looks just more of the same I'd still be hyped. I'm hoping it's improved obviously. Get more people involved.

Hoping my Warlock will still be an awesome space wizard ;)

Just watched the presser.

Overall I thought it looked pretty good, what I liked the most was probably the gameplay from the opening mission which looked fantastic and the fact that there's matchmaking (well guided teams or whatever they called it) throughout the game, which means I won't have to spam invites at everyone on my friends list when I want someone to play with.

Interesting that they've chosen Battle.net as their client on PC, most Activision games are sold/played on Steam but I guess they wanted to have Blizzard on board with distribution too or something.

Probably the most disappointing thing for me was only 4 new planets, and they aesthetically pretty much like Planets we'd already been to in the original game.

But yeah, it looked like the game the original game should've been if that makes sense, they seem to of corrected a lot of issues people had and made improvements to a lot of things too.

It was very much aimed at people who already enjoy Destiny. I mean as a conference it was like any of them. Lame jokes and over inflated comments. But fans can pick out the little bits that could mean a lot.

The only thing I wanted to see more of was the areas. How open they are and what kind of secrets they hold. I'm not expecting a massive open world like Skyrim or something, I don't think that would be better, not every game needs an open world.

The Dreadnought is probably the best designed area in Destiny in that it holds plenty of little secrets. Some not worth the time but still. The areas need more of that. End game stuff, reasons to investigate and revisit areas. Hopefully they'll deliver on the promise of regular small updates to this in between major content.

I don't expect this game to convert many. Bring back those that left and keep more playing is probably about right. Essentially this is a co-op loot game, so if your grinding for gear to do harder challenges, for more gear, isn't your thing - then this ain't your thing.

Yeah completely agree with this, some sequels set out to appeal to a wider audience, but that's not what this is at all, this is more of the same with improvements that's its able to make due to dropping previous gen and also having years of experience with the first game.

It made me realise I'm excited to get back and do more of the same. I've not really played destiny since the lords of iron dlc and I've found a few games I've liked since but nothing has had the same feeling of being right into Destiny when it's at its best, and on release with a whole game full of new and improved stuff is going to really offer that for me.

It's basically another 40 odd quid of DLC but this time it's going to be a shit ton of content.

Been watching some vids. Class abilities seem cool. Supers seem elongated. The Titan Fists of Havoc is like a roaming ability now. You seem to be able to do a couple of attacks with them also. Like a slam aswell as a punch or slash, say. The Hunters shadestep seems to be class wide and also reloads your weapon, thankfully it's on the ability cooldown. No more bloody shadestepping hunters in crucible

Im really excited about the chance to have a big shake up, people not necessarily in their comfort zones and finding new ways of playing, im honestly super stoked for this and i know that makes me bad, but im not really bothered, some games just click with you and you overlook all their flaws, and this is mine I think. Looks like there will be a lot more story too, the main areas ive wanted improvements seem to be nicely addressed so far and im looking forward to seeing what else comes out and playin the beta, instant pre-order for me.

Don't feel bad for enjoying something others don't man. Destiny isn't a bad game despite what some may say. Perhaps I'll play with some of you guys in here.

I just thought there will be some piece if gear giving hunters regular shadestep no doubt  Ah well. I might switch up classes or do what I started to do and have one 'main' for PvE and one for PvP as I thought Hunters had a better overall deal in PvP last time

I'd like to see the weapons. I'm sure it'll be in a future stream event. Interesting the snipers and fusions are now in the power slot (previously heavy). Admittedly snipers were powerful and something Bungie have struggled to balance in crucible, but I did love sniping^_^

Yeah I saw that on reddit earlier on, very funny. Its basically arcblade, not sure how the two are going to exist alongside each other. I like what ive seen of the changes to the Titan class, the super looks like you can use fist of havok several times instead of just one that people easily dodge.

I don't think Arcblade will be a thing. I think what were looking at is the replacement. Same for Warlocks. I think the sunsinger is gone and the flaming sword angel the replacement. Which looks a cool effing class. It has an aeriel dodging ability :o Ha! bring it Titans :P

I also believe Captain America replaces Defender Titan bubble. Probably to ncourage more team play with class abilities. Already thoughts of combining the Titan wall with Warlock Whirlpool heal/weapon buff.

God this shit gets me going

sometimes its obvious you are going to do it, if a titan comes running up towards the point then you just jump in the air basically, or sometimes you do one and it doesnt quite connect properly, allowing a follow up is a good idea, it was easily the worst super in Destiny 2, warlocks got one where they could fling it remotely, which was immediately better.

Yeah but the Nova bomb sometimes, when trying to get a good angle quickly, would hit a bit of wall infront if you and you'd kill yourself. That. Is. Embarrassing.

Plenty of good memories with Fists, baiting another super then...BLAM! Oooh you deeeead

I ended up settling on the Defender because of the combos you could get with power up and also the grenades that shut down powers, instantly end a sunbreaker or stormcallers fun.

Have I mentioned im excited to play this again?

I was THE fun police, set up on the point, pop bubble, no backup plans to extend the life of that thing and then the immobius shotgun that had unlimited ammo inside a bubble, occasionally switch to sword to clear out the lingerers. Literally one man army, the rest of the team could just run about.
