radiofloyd
Apologies if there's already a thread for this, please merge if there is! I think a few of you have played it. I just played an hour and a half of it there, it's brilliant. It's like playing through a novel. I have no idea how long it is, or if the ending is satisfying, but it's a very interesting game to play. Well you don't really play it so much as watch it. You have access to a database of police interviews (brilliantly acted). You find new videos by searching for information or words that came up in the videos you've watched. All of this is completely up to you. The game has a very minimal interface. The sparse music is nice and the occasional flicker of a face on the screen is quite spooky! I've been taking notes with a pen and paper and have covered two envelopers front and back with words to search for, and almost another a4 sheet! So far the story that has developed has been very interesting, and I've unlocked 5/13 of the game's achievements. Great stuff.
DisturbedSwan
I finished this in the Summer, took me 5 hours but that was to get all the chievo's, probably took me 3 hours to finish the actual game. It's really cool and a great concept for a game, but I was slightly underwhelmed by it personally, I loved the originality of how everything works in the game with the FMV stuff and the mock-old-windows-pc, the plot and the performance by Viva Seifert but it just left me feeling a bit unsatisfied by the end of it, shame really but it's well worth a play for sure. Craymen Edge
I really enjoyed my couple of hours playing through it, with all the attendant note taking and trying to piece the story together. I'd recommend playing it normally until you think you've pieced it together - enough to say yes when asked if you're satisfied, rather than trying to systematically see all the clips first time through. radiofloyd
Finished it today. I'd seen all but a few (10-20?) of the videos so I went ahead and said that I was happy and finished the game. After that I used the admin codes you get to unlock the remaining videos, which were mostly short yes/no clips from the lie detector test. Finished with 12/13 achievements, I'm missing the achievement for playing the mini-game but to hell with it. I was really impressed with it after my first 90 minute play session, where I probably watched the vast majority of the videos of any substance in the game, after that, I'm not sure how much how much of susbtance I watched, but my playtime did stretch out to 3.5 hours. Overall, it was a fairly interesting story. But it was more like filling in a jigsaw puzzle than solving a mystery - and once you had the vast majority of the jigsaw puzzle filled in, the little bits you were missing didn't matter much! My opinion had cooled on the game by the end, but it's worth a play through, especially for the price. Maybe because of the 90s computer interface, the game reminded me of Digital: A Love Story (although really, they have nothing else in common).
