I bought the monitor and accidentally 2 desks. I got the first desk and then thought about the size, measured it, and both monitors would barely fit. So quickly ordered a bigger desk but they've already sent the first. Hope I don't open the wrong one because I want to send it back in the same packaging!

EDIT: Should say both desks are arriving tomorrow, that's why it might be confusing

I need to put my new desk together tomorrow and the speakers aren't plugged in just wanted to try it out but ta-daa

It's making me dizzy (probably with jealousy) just looking at the picture.

Could I run such a thing with my 4070s, or is that just for the 4090 and above?

I think the resolution is something like 3440x1440, so somewhere in between 'regular' 1440p and 4k in terms of horsepower required. So anything that runs at 4k could run a bit better on this

I will say I had a DWF basically bought and paid for for like a day at one point, and cancelled my order when I read some of the impressions after like a year of use. So I imagine at this point the QD OLED stuff has improved, but I did want one specifically for stuff like Doom cause it seems made for that

The downside though is I play a lot of old games that only offer 4:3, 16:9 and 16:10, so I'd eventually end up with uneven bright rectangles on the side of the screen with that type of gaming

Wanted to find some UW gameplay of Doom, this isn't the best I've seen (why isn't he using his flamethrower more) but it looks cool

I did well by buying one of these boxes to hide all the plugs

But I need to get one of those under desk wire racks for spaghetti junction

My only problem is Tuesdays I work from home but where is the laptop going to go 😭

No! I’ve already set it up so the IPS monitor is the default and everything including the task bar goes there. I don’t really use my PC for anything other than games. But when/if I do I will be turning the UW off lol

Now I’ve got a lot of cleaning up to do and throwing boxes away

So one thing which is a downgrade is 1440p from 4K and how text doesn’t look very good all stretched on the UW. I’m actually glad I’ve got a nice 4K monitor to go with it to read and look at stuff properly

But 2 upgrades is OLED and HDR 10. Drastically better than the 4K monitor in terms of pop

It also runs at 240fps as well but I don’t think the 4090 can realistically do the UW at that frame rate with modern games

240 has got to be massive diminishing returns but I have a taste of sour grapes in my mouth so it's hard to tell

I think though that the value of that framerate isn't for modern AAA stuff, it's for multiplayer shooters. Stuff like Marvel Rivals (though this is a really demanding game as well, bad example actually), Overwatch, Valorant

I know no one likes me talking about my overpriced shit but holy fuck UW is godlike. I think I might just have a thing for displays. I was blown away by my first OLED, OLED Switch made me like the console, and now this shit is fucking cream worthy

Indiana Jones, Full PT, 90fps, UW with HDR? It's only at 1440p and for some reason on this display there's flicker in cutscenes which doesn't happen in gameplay, so I dunno what's going on. But man oh man oh man. I don't mean to talk shit but holy fuck.

I'm thinking about getting Spider-Man2 for PC just to see what it's like

Please don’t hate, I’m just really impressed

One thing which would be cool with screens like this is if you could put in a 2:35:1 aspect ratio film and if it filled the whole screen without borders. But blu ray players don't support this type of ratio I think

Yeah but then you've got to watch that piece of shit

I used to use an ultra wide in work, they're really useful. I've never bothered for gaming just because of the extra horsepower required
