Sony clearly trying to head off the obvious loophole, which would've been buying the cheaper collection for £15 on PSN and then upgrading for £10, £25 in total, rather than buying the new PS5 version for £45/£50. Now that's £35 + £10

 

The loophole still exists for those who have a disc console. You could buy the physical collection for £10-£15 and upgrade for £10.

 

This is why Sony and Microsoft don't want to do disc drives anymore. This is why you should want disc drives. This is why the platform holder shouldn't have a monopoly on where you can buy from.

Tbf I actually have the disc still (and the digital license that was given away during Covid) but it still seems a little bit of a shitty thing to do with a 7 year old game.

 

I won't be upgrading either.
