Wii U External HDD

Has anybody else bothered getting one? I need one now, my puny 8GB has been exceeded has now spilt over on to two (count em!) USB sticks which the WIi U doesnt like much and neither do I.

Help and stuff? There are tons available but I wanted you guys to re-assure me and stroke my hair and tell me everything is going to be ok.

I'm getting one of those for my xbox1 ^^ 2tb should do the trick and has pretty good reviews.

bought. I paid a bit extra and got a USB 3.0 y-cable because the hdd is 3.0, but the WiiU is only 2.0 so it's not really needed

I wouldn't mind one of them but I like having the GC adaptor plugged in at all times (I am very lazy). Does the WiiU have any other USB ports than the two on the back?

So, I cant get this to work with my Wii U. Its has a white light on the hard drive itself and just makes clicking sound systematically. Tried it on my Xbox One and it worked straight away. What the funk?

Totes got a Y cable. Also, i tried it on the WIi U first, wouldnt work, thats why i tried it on the Xbox. Stuopid fucking shit.

can you get the WiiU to format the drive?

I had a look on google for you, but the only advice I found was that it was a fault with the drive, which it could be, but you've had it working with the xbox

Yea, works perfic on the box. The Wii U cant see the hard drive when its plugged in. Fuck knows. Guess its an xbox hard drive now.

reading around it could be that the hdd has gone in to power saving mode. Apparently if you plug it in to a pc you can change something on it to turn off power saving

So I really want to play Xenoblade but i don't have a Wii U yet.

I know Xenoblade has some downloads that speed up loading times that will probably take me over the basic 8GB.

So what the score external memory? Nintendo's website is saying that the external needs a power source? I don't think I'll need that much memory. So can you just use USB sticks? Will Mario Maker eat it up making levels? What's your set up?

you can use a B stick, if memory serves that's hat illdog was using. But you're risking it failing, wheras a y cable and an external hdd is fine and bigger, it's what I did and I'm pretty great
