Uncle Dokuro Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Canonical has decided to close down their cloud storage service for Ubuntu, so I've been looking around for a new service to use Google Drive is out of the question because it not really linux friendly. Been looking at SpiderOak, Mega, Dropbox and Copy. Still not sure which to use. I like that Mega gives you 50GB free, but will the US government shut it down like they did to it's forerunner Mega Upload? SpiderOak ike Mega gives a layer of security, but gives me way less space. SpiderOak also has a linux desktop app. Dropbox brings up ethical questions as former Bush-era staffers are on the board and Copy is a unknown at the moment. So the question I will be proposing to you guys today is which cloud service do you use and why do you use/trust it with you docs, music, video and photos?
Hendo Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 I use Dropbox purely for sending music tracks me and a mate are working on back and forth. It works alright for what I want though you'd have to pay to get more space or invite friends in to use it.
