Manicm
I'm after something as a hub for photo's music, backup for my iproducts. Been using a notebook which looks like it's died today, luckily all backed up. Really don't want to spend much but spotted a Hp with an intel i3 processor, 1tb hdd, 4gb ram, oh will use it for internet shopping, I'm a bit behind on current spec but that will do the job? DANGERMAN
You're not going to be running 'proper' games, it'll run the indie types though. 4gb should be enough for video and fast web browsing, the 1tb is plenty (hopefully it's a decent speed one)
Manicm
Went laptop shopping today, OH wanted an apple mac, errrm not enough pennies for that but found an ex demo Samsung series 9 notebook, intel i5 processor, 4gb ram, a 128gb hard state drive, only £479 with a 2 year warranty, so we got that. Nice little laptop, although windows 8 is such a pain!!
DANGERMAN
I think 8.1 is either out or out soon which should make it less annoying. Has it got another HDD as well or is it just the SSD? Either way it sounds a better computer, and it being an i5 it'll probably run a bit more too
Manicm
Yep it's got an ssd but ive got a 1tb backup drive, it's got my vita stuff, music and photos on, was a pig transferring into iTunes but it's done now, problem is oh downloads stuff to her phone and i only found out today she has 30 albums she hadn't synched to the old laptop or my back up drive! All sorted now.
Hendo
8.1 is out, I still use a third party plug-in though to stick to old style desktop.
Uncle Dokuro
8.1 is out, I still use a third party plug-in though to stick to old style desktop. You can do that without a third party plug in. - Right click on the taskbar and select Properties - Click on the Navigation tab - Check “Go to the desktop instead of Start when I sign in.” - Check “Show my desktop background on Start” - Click Ok
