No Man's Sky

Now I did not expect this from the four man team at Hello Games (Joe Danger). The trailer is truly breath taking and provided I can explore this world uninterpreted by other gamers It will be a day one buy. Strangely there is no platform tied to No Man's Sky yet.

The latest game from Joe Danger developer Hello Games is No Man’s Sky, a procedurually generated open world game for next-gen consoles.

The gameplay trailer begins underwater. The player, in the first-person view, walks out to land and gets into a ship, before flying it towards the clouds and into space, where he proceeds to pilot through asteroids during airship dogfights.

“In our game, when you stand on a planet and you see a mountain and that mountain is like three miles or wherever it is, and you can see it, you can walk there, you can go and explore it,” Hello Games co-founder Sean Murray said at VGX.

“That planet on the horizon that you in the trailer, that’s a real place, and you can see features on it, and you can get on your ship and you can get it.”

All the stars you see in space, Murray added, are real stars, with planets around them, and you can go there and visit those planets.

Also, the game is being developed by a four man team.

It's because it's a 4 man team - it just looks incredible.

Like an incredible cutscene. There's not much indication of a game in there. To be fair: announcement trailers are nearly always like that, and the game's probably not ready to show anything more just yet. I just feel my timeline is getting a little carried away over it.

I do hope it delivers on the promise of the video though.

It's a good trailer, but really doesn't tell you very much about what you actually do. People on Twitter are getting a bit over excited about this.

You explore that is what you do - find new planets, galaxies and life forms. On the downside I just found out that it is like Titanfall and Destiny MP only .... my excitement for this game just died.

Hello Games' breathtaking sci-fi open universe game No Man's Sky will arrive for consoles first on PlayStation 4.

Studio leader Sean Murray took the stage during Sony's E3 2014 press conference to make the announcement and reveal more gameplay from the game's procedurally-generated worlds.

Most impressive is the ability to hop from one planet to another with no loading times, from ground to space and back to ground on a different place in the solar system.

Planets are populated by flora and fauna - big, dinosaur-looking creatures, floating jellyfish and beefy rhinos - while space features ship-based combat, with fleets of fighters appearing out of warp.

If this is as good as it looks, I will be getting a PS4. Funny how such a small team can be a driver for picking up a console. I love how they've managed to create so much content automatically, genius. They deserve success!

Is it coming to X1 eventually (for my brother, not me)?
