Maf Posted July 21, 2025 Posted July 21, 2025 Comparing it to past DK games is the more direct comparison But it’s also a similar product The next work after the Mario Odyssey team And Nintendo’s big 3D platformer for the system I’m not saying it’s the go to comparison, but it’s still a notable one
Guest Posted July 21, 2025 Posted July 21, 2025 Switch release to odyssey 7 months Switch 2 to DkB 1 month. Not that it was ever going to sell better but still it wouldn’t be 50% less.

retroed Posted July 24, 2025 Posted July 24, 2025 LEGO Nintendo Game Boy available to pre-order, out in October. https://www.lego.com/en-gb/product/game-boy-72046 1
Maryokutai Posted July 24, 2025 Posted July 24, 2025 Not posting this in the deals forum because it's more of a a general information, but there's a summer sale going on in the eShop at the moment and I noticed that almost my entire wishlist is on sale. So maybe worth taking a look, IIRC it's still running for another ten days or so.
Maf Posted July 24, 2025 Posted July 24, 2025 The subtitle shouldn’t have been World it should have been Unkillable
Maf Posted July 24, 2025 Posted July 24, 2025 Yeah. But it is 5 years old and in the shadow of the Switch 2 Xbox, though 👀
Maryokutai Posted July 24, 2025 Posted July 24, 2025 Playstation hasn't done big numbers over there for about a decade now though. I just checked and Switch 2 is already at 1/4th of PS5's lifetime sales in Japan (7m). Nintendo has that entire market basically for themselves these days.
Guest Posted July 26, 2025 Posted July 26, 2025 That’s a silly tweet. They’re not reporting that they just have an article on the only person saying that there will be one from natethehate.
retroed Posted July 29, 2025 Posted July 29, 2025 Holy shit. I had this on SNES, big box with mouse and hard plastic mouse pad. I spent hours on music mode and swatting flies. Cool that you can still play this on Switch with a USB mouse.
Maryokutai Posted July 29, 2025 Posted July 29, 2025 Saw some people asking for this ever since they announced the mouse feature. It's a good pick for sure, but my only two memories about this game are playing the fly swatting minigame at a friend's house and (decades later) combing youtube for songs people recreated in its music box:
Maryokutai Posted July 30, 2025 Posted July 30, 2025 Nintendo Partner Direct tomorrow: https://www.youtube.com/post/Ugkx8ZK9yqkMVsJ3sACy_WkIaK4Rg_KeoO0a 3pm for me, so 2pm for you guys I think. Brace yourselves for a truckload of PS4-Generation ports sold as Game Key Cards. 1
Maf Posted July 31, 2025 Posted July 31, 2025 Not a great show but a bit better than expected. MH Stories 3 and Octopath 3 are cool. Not sure how I feel about creating a character and making your own town. But will 100% check it out. Octopath 2 was incredible Unfortunately it seems pretty much everything is a Game Keycard from what I saw online

Every time you see a cool-looking game from a third-party your mind will immediately go to 'ah, crap, Game Key Card'. Also I read somewhere that the Octopath game seems to be a reworked version of the mobile title, which would explain the quick turnaround and the uglier visuals. It's still kind of interesting but with reference to my first paragraph, I'll probably never play it.
Maf Posted July 31, 2025 Posted July 31, 2025 Looks like there’s a Switch 1 version so hopefully there’s an upgrade path..
Maryokutai Posted July 31, 2025 Posted July 31, 2025 Octopath doesn't, so I get the feeling SE for some reason isn't doing upgrade paths, full stop. On the plus side every game except for Hyrule Warriors is multiplatform so there's always that option.
