Oh, and I've just seen Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is coming to Europe 9th January. There isn't a more adorable way of starting 2015.

I know where my Christmas money is going.

Nintendo sold 610,000 Wii U consoles in its most recent quarter, for a total of 1.12 million in the April-September period, taking lifetime Wii U sales to 7.29 million units since launching in November 2012.

5.01 million Wii U games were sold during the most recent quarter, and 9.4 million in the first half of the year, for a lifetime total of 41.67 million units.

Nintendo sold 1.27 million 3DS consoles in its most recent quarter, for a total of 2.09 million in the April-September period, taking lifetime 3DS sales to 45.42 million units.

It moved 14.73m 3DS games during the most recent quarter, and 23.3 million in the first six months of the year, for a lifetime total of 186.22 million units.

The company reported net income of 14.3 billion yen (£82m/$132m) for the April-September period, compared to 600 million yen (£3.4m/$5.5m) during the first six months of last year.

First half revenue came in at 171.4 billion yen (£983m/$1.58b), down 12.8 per cent from a year earlier, but the firm's operating loss was reduced from 23.3 billion yen to 215 million yen (£1.2m/$2m).

Nintendo's outlook for the full business year ending in March 2015 remains unchanged. It forecasts a net profit of 20 billion yen (£115m/$185m) on sales of 590 billion yen (£3.4b/$5.5b).

I always like to see Nintendo doing well, they make good games innit. But they need to make MORE good games on the Wii U, then it will do better. I should be CEO.

Me too. For me, their systems always have the best games of each generation, I couldn't live without them (or at least I couldn't game without them).

Watching a Nintendo Direct live for the first time in an age! I do love these guys :)

MK8 update hitting on Nov 13th, woohoo!

I might even buy the Pikmin Shorts (£4.49) and 3D on 3DS or HD on WiiU.

Still don't get Xenoblade...

ARGH! I forgot about Splatoon! Looks like some neat single player too.

I'm utterly sold already. Q2

Nintendo will begin selling digital versions of Wii games on Wii U, the company has annonuced.

The new range will reproduce some of the last-gen console's top titles, although there is no word of any enhancements.

Nintendo will start by selling Super Mario Galaxy 2 starting later today.

Donkey Kong Country Returns will launch on 22nd January while the excellent Metroid Prime Trilogy will arrive on 29th January.

Kirby's Adventure Wii, Pandora's Tower, Punch-Out and Sin & Punishment will be added to the range in the future, too.

Each game will cost £8.99 during its first week on sale, then raise in price to £17.99 afterwards.
