Nag Posted November 27, 2024 Posted November 27, 2024 I seem to remember Panic on Funkotron being really good... back in the day.
Maryokutai Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 Not sure if anyone remembers this, but it was one of the most technically impressive 3DS games at the time. It's less impressive on a system that could theoretically run its big inspiration easily, but still nice to see another game saved from the 3DS nirvana. Also nice to see the developer is still around, IIRC it was a two man team and one of them passed away a few years back. But they've always done visually super impressive stuff on Nintendo handhelds.

I had the trial, but I think I'd missed the opportunity to buy it when I went to
Maryokutai Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 I had the campaign on 3DS, which was another cool thing they did by offering both modes as separate purchases/downloads. Decided to get this port, too. I can see how someone would look at it and declare it a cheap knockoff, but I still think it's extremely well executed for such a small game. I checked the credits and the Switch port was actually done by a single person.
mfnick Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 Nintendo year in review is up. https://year-in-review.nintendo.com/en-us/ 1
Nag Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 I hope you two really resemble those avatars...😂
Maf Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 I took that profile to my barber and he said son, you can't pull that off, don't even try I was like damn, Mr Barber, real talk 1
HandsomeDead Posted December 18, 2024 Author Posted December 18, 2024 The GBA time would be playing through Superstar Saga. 1
one-armed dwarf Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 Nocturne is automatic respect regardless
Maryokutai Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 The number of games is a bit bloated because I upgraded my SD card this year and re-downloaded and booted up a ton of random older games in the process just for the heck of it. Was a bit nuts going back to year 1 stuff, the Switch really has been around for an eternity at this point. 1
Maf Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 Holy shit @Maryokutai. What was the Star Wars game and what were the hours?
Maryokutai Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 Star Wars: Hunters, a low-budget hero shooter I rather enjoyed for a while. Played that for 65 hours, Ys X for 50, Paper Mario for 40, and then a lot of other games around that amount like Unicorn Overlord, SteamWorld Heist II, the last parts of P5 Royal etc.
one-armed dwarf Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Wow, the switch 2 announcement just leaked. It's a pretty early pre-vis but still crazy
Maryokutai Posted January 5 Posted January 5 You know what, despite being somewhat confident that something like this would never leak out of Nintendo HQ and the logo looking a bit iffy, I actually thought it was the real deal until Peach started talking. I do expect the real thing to be very close to this though. Minus of course the Smash Bros. Melee port, because that is the most unrealistic thing here.
Maf Posted January 7 Posted January 7 So seems like the Switch 2 will be able to have DLSS and might even be able to do ray tracing? POKEMON HAS NO EXCUSE NEXT TIME
