You get the option to rate folk when you send them back to their world with presents.

I switched classes to an Assassin and I am enjoying the game a lot more again. I found my damage against the big creatures was just pathetic and thought switching it would help. It did, I'm actually making an impact on boss health now rather than just holding on for dear life until the mages decide to lift a finger. It has also given me a variety when it comes to dealing with regular dudes.

I have also switched my pawn to fighter so apologies if anyone was using her before hand and now she is no use.

I'll carry on using her as long as she remains a damage dealer... my Mage slot is already took up.

Managed to kill that chained up GoreCyclopse yesterday, with the help of your pawn Bob... then hit another wall in the shape of a fucking massive ugly

Evil Eye

... some more leveling in order, methinks.

I am right at the end I my second play through. Tempted to go take a look at the add on again but also mulling over going through on hard mode and then doing the DLC. Have you tried hard mode? Any thoughts?

So playing last night, and I stumbled into a dragon while taking a shortcut around the edge of a swamp.

A FUCKING DRAGON!

needless to say I had my ass handed to me, I need to remember to save more often!

I went back and had another go, trying to climb onto the damn thing and try to take it down, but no joy, that thing is rock solid.

I think I'm about 22, I'm really early on in the game, and like I say, chipping away playing about 30-40 minutes at a time and playing as a ranger, I've been enjoying taking down a Cyclops pretty much single handed, provided it's not wearing a helm. my pawns keep saying how it would be easier if we could knock the helm off, but no matter how hard I try I can't smash the damn things off.

I found myself getting mildly annoyed last night, that my pawn could have easily rain down fire on the saurians (sp?) who were crushing me in a corridor, but instead derpy decided to start whacking at them with her staff...

It's warming me up to the idea of playing dark souls

If you climb onto a Cyclopses back then up near their head they'll try to grab you... sometimes knocking off their own helm.

22 is a little early for that Drake... bear in mind he's weak to ice so have a Sorcerer and Mage with relevant spells and if you can get his heart exposed he'll take massive damage.

Do you have access to the eternal ferrystone? When I was doing escort quests I would take the quest, see where they wanted to go, put a waypoint down, cancel the quest by pressing on the notice board again and then run to the location and put down a portcrystal. Go back and get the dude or dudette and then quick travel there taking them with you.

Hard mode gives you a load more gold. I have been getting 10k from wolves sometimes and doubles your xp. Quest xp remains the same.

The eternal ferrystone should be in your storage as long as you have played the original game. When I loaded this up it told me I had been given the ferrystone and 100000 rift points. Being able to zip around everywhere makes the game so much more enjoyable for me.

Floyd, that is pretty much it. Even if you are offline there are plenty of pre made pawns to use. Or if your Internet is intermittent then once you have a pawn in your party they will stay there even if you go offline.

And is it worth downloading the online pawns? I'd rather not gimp the game with an overpowered mage in my party.

Unless it is someone from your friends list you have to pay for the pawns with rift crystals and even a few levels over yours are pretty expensive so most if the time you will be hiring at your own level. Of course if you have Nag on your fiends list you will have access to his high level DPS Mage so I should answer your question... Way to ramble Bob.

I would... Try it and see. Go in with pawns around your level and if you start getting frustrated with the battles, especially against stuff like Ogres and Cyclopseseses which are the most common big bosses, grab a high level pawn and see how your experience changes. Personally, an established pawn made the first few hours of the game a lot smoother until I had crafted myself into a lean mean fat grilling sexual tyrannosaur machine. Then once I had got to grips with everything I had Nag's pawn who I was usually chasing ten to fifteen levels behind and a healer that was the same level as me.

I feel like I just spouted a load of shit without actually saying anything. So I will add this to the end. Nag's pawn used to wear a thong and an overcoat. The fucking pervert.

That's good that's pretty much what I wanted to know. I'll play it offline to start with.

I don't know if you've ever played Disgaea but I had a really long file in Disgaea 2, and late in the game I accidentally threw one of my characters at the enemy and he went up around 400 levels. Obviously it was a mechanic in the game I hadn't even realised was there. Was annoyed afterwards though.

And just look how badass she turned out... bit of flashing works wonders on toughening pawns up... its also a good way of getting them rented out more.;)

I'd deleted my save before i heard about this expansion so i didn't receive any of the perks for playing the original, bugger.

EDIT... just want to say if you have pawns that are a higher level than you it effects the amount of xp you receive from kills meaning you'll actually level slower.

Level of pawn doesn't really seem to matter to much, I've found it's still easy to have your entire party die if you're careless about running into situations you're not ready for.

the infinite ferrystone is only available if you played the original game, but luck for you ferrystones are cheaper and more available than in the original game, and besides, running places is good, you get experience and you get to open chests and whatnot.

if you're strapped for cash, go and kill some of the beasts outside of grand soren, pick up the steaks they drop and hang onto them for an hour or so and they go sour, you can then sell them for 1500g

I've been doing some reading about stat growth too, apparently different classes level up their stats differently, so I'm thinking of changing class again for a while to up my damage. I'm also hoping that doing all the side quest stuff before pushing through the main missions will mean I'm prepared for some of the later fights.

Third time through. I pretty much blazed through this play through on hard to get the bonus loot and dragon forge all my pawns gear. The bonus loot isn't really worth it but I have been getting between 20-50k for big beast kills which is where the XP is coming from. Going to finish up in the Everfell and then start over on normal and get on with the add on.

Hard has been pretty easy. Couple of really big beasts have been able to one hit me but as long as I'm careful it isn't too bad.
